how thirsty are you?

If you talk to people about meditation or peace, they say – you have to do it, but there is no time. There are so many household chores that there is no leisure time and it is very expensive. Whenever you hear such answers, know only one thing that they have not yet awakened the thirst for attention. When there is real thirst, then man suffers so much that he sees neither time nor money. He just has to learn meditation.

let's take a story to understand all the things clearly.

Osho narrates a true incident. The thing is old, when he used to travel by train in India. 'It was a hot day, I was traveling. There was little rain that year. People's throats were drying up. The train stopped at a station. There a boy was selling glasses of water - 'A glass of cold water for ten paise (Indian rupee)!' He would make a sound and give water and go ahead. The person sitting next to me said to the boy, will you not give for eight paise (Indian rupee)? It is too expensive. The boy who sold water did not stop, he said while walking, you are not thirsty at all. He spoke very deeply. When thirsty, someone talks about ten paise-eight paise? Accounting goes on till the time there is no real thirst. When you get tired of thirst, will you talk about two paise (Indian rupee)?"

Such is the thirst for meditation, for knowing oneself. When you suddenly remember yourself after being separated from yourself, then that memory burns in your body and mind like a flame of fire. For a moment of meditation, a man is ready to spend everything, because that moment takes him to himself. That's why to wake up thirsty first, water is available automatically.
