Of all the govern-cement types in existence, or proposed, only Communism (the govern-cement) states it will feed everyone.
Of all the types of govern-cement types in existence of proposed, only Free Market Capitalism has a chance of feeding everyone.
And, these are at their best. With little corruption, and no one in power actually trying to starve anyone (for control, or greed, or envy, or destruction, or wanting to destroy "that" group.)
A decent ruling system would make sure everyone has their needs met. food, shelter, clothing. This is the bare minimum. This should not be up for debate. (meaning, we should all agree that this is a noble goal)
However, of all of our govern-cement types, we have one that could feed everyone, and one that says they want to feed everyone.

Why we must feed everyone
Free market capitalists are usually very "each person should grow their own food", in their perspective of the world. Of course, they think that they are more complex than that, saying, specifically, "get a job you bum". Meaning, they should get a job, that pays them enough money to live. And then exchange the money for food that they need.
Unfortunately, this boils down to, those who have the most economically viable job skills can eat. Capitalism and free market imply that everything is a competition. And that there are winners and losers. Which means that the least economically viable job skills may starve. (and have starved in many eras in the past)
Free market people believe that a worker can just get themselves another skill set. The factories that these people set up treat their workers as cogs. (Communism not only treats them like cogs, they define them as cogs)
But no one is a perfect cog. Everyone has different skills, and different levels of skills. Not everyone can be a CEO, or a programmer, or a nuclear physicist. Similarly, no baby can grow its own food. Nor can many others who are physically or mentally incapable. Of course the capitalists say "this is where charity comes in". However, this is just passing the buck, and living under a system that holds food over someones head this way, is quite evil. Oh, sorry, there isn't enough charity, why don't you just try fasting for days?
Communism can often be much worse. "Comrade, you have been chosen to starve to death for the greater good."
So, we must do several things at once. We need to grow enough food for everyone on the planet. (for the most part, we already do this) We need to do our best to have each person grow their own food. Meaning, we have to have space for each person to do so. We must encourage them to grow their own food, and must not block them from growing their own food. Those incapable of growing their own food need help from others. This help should be as minimal of a burden for those who are growing. (maybe even fully automated) If we plan to grow 120% of food needed, then we will have a lot of excess that will seem more of a joy to share, than a burden to have grown.
Think of yourself suddenly become a paraplegic from an accident. How would you like the world to be? Would you like to know that you will be fed? Of course, feeding yourself would be the best, but feeling like your food could be cut off at any moment is a burden no person should bare.
In the past, we could argue about lack of food, and famines, and bad harvests, and not enough, but today, with all of our technology and machinery, we should not be having any problems in feeding everyone, and so, acting like we are still in scarcity is really bad for the future of mankind.

Feeding everyone is just a matter of…
Growing enough food, and distributing it to everyone.
This is not about money. If it was, Bezos, or Musk, or Soros could do so with a small portion of their "stated" wealth.
The US is currently starving African countries, because…?
We send a country lots of food. Like eggs. Now, one of the easiest things to grow and sell is chicken eggs. But, who can compete with free? So, The US makes farming damn near impossible in these African countries. Further, The US puts no stipulations on food like, "the warlord must not take it all for themselves", "the warlord must allow independent farmers and not steal their crops", or many other common sense agreements.
Currently the USDA & FDA are purposefully trying to limit people from growing their own food, and control what food is grown and distributed. They have purposefully made things worse for everyone. It appears that their goal is control of people through control of food.
And then you have BigAg and BigFood controlling everything they can, by buying up all the competition.
There is a lot of things going on here that absolutely shouldn't be allowed to exist. These people/groups are trying to starve people. That is evil, and should be eliminated.
However, it is has been allowed to exist under corruption of capitalism and democracy. The evil have corrupted, or let the wording of the law protect them from regress.
Like Waco Texas and Ruby Ridge, those doing the evil were allowed to by the govern-cement structure.

If you are a prepper, you need to prepare to defend your food…
This mindset is going to get a lot of people killed. People go crazy when they are hungry. They go even crazier when they are hungry, and they see others as withholding food from them.
Again, the only real solution is having enough food for everyone. If there is enough food, then we can keep people out of the almost starving insanity. Then we could talk about them integrating in with the homesteader communities.
The problem here is that there are too many takers. People who want food to just be given to them. This is best handled with teaching them how easy it is to grow their own food, and show them the feeling of knowing their food comes from them. That they have a lot of control over the process. It is a good feeling.
But this doesn't work on all the takers. So, we need to separate those who can't from those who won't. And we really need to work out punishments for those who won't. Of course, the real punishment for those who won't is starving to death (being pushed out of the community is usually a death from starvation sentence). But we must avoid pushing too many people out of the community, because then we get groups of angry and hungry people who will come and take by force.
We must come up with punishments that offer a carrot and stick We must avoid pushing too many people out, else those within get scared. And similarly we must avoid killing too many because that makes people even more afraid. (of course, the opposite of too many, is not enough where it leads people to feel like they are being taken advantage of)
Fortunately, over time, most of this problem goes away because when we raise children into a group where they know where food comes from, and how to grow it themselves, and there isn't barriers to growing food, then the children grow up into people who enjoy growing their food, and feel like they have control over their lives by growing their own food.

With continuous, pollution free electricity, we can easily grow food, indoors with grow lights and automatic watering. We are already making greenhouses that are almost completely automated. With a little more engineering in this field, we will have systems that almost anyone can use, and use to feed themselves.
After we get these designed, we need to get one built for everyone. And then we encourage everyone to grow their own food, and we make sure that there is little impedance in them growing their own food.
I doubt if most of the growers will take to the idea that "No one should starve", they have all known too many takers. However, over time we will get to a place where it is normal for most people to be growers, and there to be enough excess to ameliorate most of the starvation.
So, over time, with people growing up with having the ability to grow, then we teach our children, then before too long we are at a society that is pretty close to "We must feed everyone". Although, i am sure the words and the logic will be much different then. The idea of "not letting people starve" will not be some pie in the sky fantasy, it will be an easy thing to do, and the takers will be dealt with before they grow into adults.

If everyone could just grow a bit of their own food, a lot of problems would vanish. It’s weird that’s not the main goal anywhere.
It is not weird, a lot of money, advertisements, movies… have shown farming as something the stupid people do. Not the affluent, not the upward mobile, not the jet setter class.
Further gardening/farming is the thing that there is most laws about.
Well you're right about that
