A lot of people think that meditation is not thinking at all. While I have another definition of what meditation could mean. A better one you may say.

Referring to google, meditation is :

a written or spoken discourse expressing considered thoughts on a subject.

So, even here it's not about not thinking at all. Of course clearing our mind of ideas will be great. But that maybe a very high level of meditation. To make it easy for those who don't meditate that often, we have to at least stop thinking a lot. Or concentrate our brain on the minimum of thoughts. Sometimes it helps to imagine that we are in our favorite place. Of course that place should be calm. Or full of natural sounds, like the singing of birds, the murmur of water or the sound of the wind. It's better of course to hear all those favorite sounds. In this case it's possible to download them and to put headphones and enjoy the process.

Depending on that. We can consider any physical activity as a technique that makes the meditation much easier. For example during our training or practicing any kind of sports, we may imagine what we like, or hear what we love, or even sing or talk. I would like to emphasize that talking to ourselves is a meditation as well. And that never means that we lost our minds, but on the contrary, that could be a great way to focus on what we think about. Even watching a movie could be considered as a meditation, because in this period of time we think only about the movie and our mind take a rest from other thoughts we always have. The same about reading a book, if you are a book lover. And I would say that books are even better than movies, because in this case, we don't only clear our mind, but also boost our imagination even more.

I would also say that creating content could be the best way of meditation. Especially when we write it down, but not only record or take a picture. When we start writing our thoughts, we have only a few things to think about, because all our focus is on writing it right, to not make mistakes and to not write what's not needed. But even creating a video could be considered as a meditation. Because we have to think about what we should say in the video, or what to record at all. The same about taking pictures if we look for good places to shot. Concluding all that, any type of creating content can help us to clear our minds and to focus only on few ideas. And why to not call that a meditation.

In this case, we should always look for a useful activity to do. And to not let ourselves be distracted. And there are so many things that can disturb our attention. We shouldn't let those exist in our journey. For example people we don't feel comfortable with, platforms that consume most of our time. Even games that are built only to make us lose time without any value. There are such people who like us to redirect our attention mostly on them. In this case we should find people who like to listen, and we feel that they understand us. The discussion with such people make us express all our ideas and while talking we make clear our minds. The platforms we should avoid, those are platforms where the content is not organized. For example most famous social media show us random videos what may make us think about so many things at the same time. And that may affect us even after watching those videos, but not only during that time. That's why it's better to consume the information we really need and to use platforms where we can choose what to watch. That should be a habit, never to watch such random videos and organize our thinking.

I think if we consider the meditation as clearing our minds from thoughts we don't need, it will be much easier for us to meditate.

Of course if we reach the level where we will be able to not think at all and clear our mind from every thought, that will give us better psychological health. And that's possible for sure with training. Practice makes perfect after all !
