The truth about external motivation (as I see it)

Most of us have been there, in the midst of our darkest times, turning to self help books, motivational videos, tedtalks, tarot readings, that wise friend that just seems to make it work, etc...

All of the above have on thing in common they have a beautiful way of telling you that everything will get better if you just wake up at 4am, and excercise and read 12 books a week or something... They are an external validation point of "believing in you" when you fail to believe in yourself..

And you see that's actually where the real problem lies..

Because they bring you in "High-like" state. The way it worked for them, makes you immediately believe it will work for you too..and then a funny thing happens, your mind actually starts believing for a second that you've already reached that end goal because it is "possible"...

So next comes the crash... Because after a week or two (for some earlier and for others it might take longer). You realize that you are still in the same position as when you watched that video or maybe even in a worse one... And watching that video hasn't made it any easier....

You see, external motivation is not a magic wand that will make it all go easier...
It's an insight from someone else. And if you fail to have that insight for yourself and make it your own, translate it to your own situation instead of trying to copy paste it... I mean really believe to the core that what you want is possible, nothing changes and that external motivation will do you more harm than good.

Stop searching for a quick fix, get to know yourself, do the work and pull yourself out of that gutter...

Validate your situation for yourself and no one else, recognize where it's going wrong for you! When you do that, you just might figure out, that someone else's solution doesn't have to be yours...

External motivation is a stepping stone, not the solution ❤️

Undoubtedly, the magic is within you so you have to grasp everything for yourself but if someone from outside helps push things a little it helps too! Thank you!

With that I totally agree, we must take the push provided by external motivation and turn it into our own magic if we want it to really be beneficial ❤️🙏
