I'd like to start by defining some major terms related to this topic from my knowledge of Geography in Secondary school. It may be difficult to understand the question if one doesn't have a prior knowledge of the topic from either an educational setting or from the social or news media.
I could quite remember that one of the questions in our examination that year was the difference between climate and weather. These two terminologies are always mistaken for each other by students. Climate is always mistaken for weather and weather for climate.
WHAT IS CLIMATE?
Climate is the average weather in a given area over a longer period of time. A description of a climate includes information on, e.g. the average temperature in different seasons, rainfall, and sunshine. source
WHAT IS WEATHER?
Weather is the state of the atmosphere at a given place and time in regards to heat, cloudiness, dryness, sunshine, wind, and rain. Weather can vary greatly and largely depends on climate, seasons, and various other factors. source
In short, climate and weather are different from each other, in the sense that climate is measured over a long period of time and weather is liable to change from time to time.

There are different climates in different places, countries, or continents. There are arid climates, tropical climates, temperate climates. Nigeria for instance have about three different climates which varies from one region to another.
WHAT IS CLIMATE CHANGE?
Climate change is a long-term change in the average weather patterns that have come to define Earth’s local, regional and global climates.source
Climate changes results to an unpredictable weather patterns of a particular locale. It often times makes it difficult to predict when a particular weather conditions will occur. For instance, in Nigeria, there are some months in the year that are known for sunny weather, harmattan or rainy season. But with climate change, rain may not start at the time its suppose to start. I could remember a year that harmattan came earlier than usual and everyone was surprised.
CAUSES OF CLIMATE CHANGE
Climate change is majorly caused my activities and actions of humans. Some of these activities includes burning of natural gas, oil, coal and even waste products. Air pollution and environmental pollution are a major contributor to changes that occur in our climates. The gases that comes out from burning so many waste products will end up trapping the heat from sun rays inside the atmosphere resulting to a rise in the temperature of the earth.
SOLUTION
In order to curb the rapid climate change that is occurring as a result of man's activities and actions, I believe it is expedient that we start from the basis.
This is orientation of the general populace on how to reduce burning of waste products. There are some waste products that are better recycled than burning that creates so much gas that blocks sun rays.
Industries, factories and companies that also use a lot of machinery that cause heat should find ways of reducing them. The heat from generating sets, plants etc in a particular place is enough to cause harm to our climate. Therefore, we should invest more in renewable energy.
Deforestation should be condemned in its entirety. So many companies, for their selfish interests cut down tress in forest that could have been helpful in regulating our climate.
