Grain, Weather, Sandpoint - Friday

in ecoTrain3 years ago

It started with the drive into town before dawn to pick up a couple barrels of grain. As I drove out of the house and headed south towards town it was snowing until a couple miles south of the farm where it turned to rain. As I loaded up the barrels it was attempting to snow on me. The roads were fine until I came down the hill to the farm and had to keep the driver side tires in the tracks to slow down in time to make the corner without sliding into the ditch.

It was a sloppy mess as it rained on top of the snow. We got all of an inch but then got a 1/4 inch of rain on it.

The sheep and the birds are all extra happy every time I dump grain. The birds especially love to dig around in it.

About 1:30 we left for Sandpoint and were in our room before 3pm. The Bestwestern that will be getting torn down for a new, bigger, and taller hotel, has every room with a lake view.

We went to eat at Eichardt's pub which was killer food. I love the place as it one of the original pubs in town and has a pretty good amount of history in it. We headed back to the room before going back out and the storm moving through made for some amazing views.

We went and got a few things at Walmart which was amazing to walk through and actually see faces. These masks are such a pile of horse shit. People just need to get covid more and prove how much it is like the flu. The death rate is the same and cases are going to be the same in the end. No vaccine will do anything to keep people from getting covid, it MIGHT alleviate a FEW of the symptoms PERIOD. If you get the vaccine you are just being an ignorant fearful fool.

We stopped at Laughing Dog for a beers, rootbeer for the boys, and to fill a couple growlers. It is one of our favorite breweries and we have been coming to them for about 12 or 13 years now.

Back at the hotel we spent a good amount of time in the pool and hot tub as they were both warm/hot.

I managed almost a 1000 words on my writing even with the adventures of the day. Today we are going to take the boys around to do some things for them. Check out the Cedar Street bridge and maybe a park in Dover. Much time will be spent in the pool area again.

We are making sure to take advantage of all the places that are not going to instantly listen to the moronic governor stepping the state back to phase 2. Ignorance is the name of this world now. Fear, Ignorance, and Control. It is all our duties to resist the tyranny that is being perpetrated on this world. Covid is the fastest way for totalitarian control to be fully cemented. I wish EVERYONE would get it. Then there would be no reason for all this.

I should see whether I can find time to drive up to Sandpoint tomorrow if you'll still be there and wouldn't object to a vacation interruption from an obnoxious librarian.

We are going bowling at noon when they open before we head home and you are more than welcome to join us.

Here? We'll see. I'm not much of a bowler, but I have some spare quarters to feed an arcade machine, at least.

Yep. We were going to go tonight but it got late and we wanted to swim more, plus I figured we would have less chance of it being busy at opening.

I didn't know that hotel is scheduled for demolition. Shucks! That's a great shot of the storm clouds across the lake. I haven't been to Eichardts; will have to give it a try. I do have a weakness for Panhandle Pies, though, especially in June, when there is fresh strawberry pie to be had.

We are a bit dismayed by the demo as well. The place is really cool but it is showing its age so I could see where they would want to build a new one. Plus with the new train track/bridge going in there is probably some easement expansion that is helped by the demo.
