I think this is very true. Although the situation has improved, men are often still not encouraged to express their emotions. Additionally, on a slightly different note, many people don't realize that when men are depressed, their symptoms are often different from those of women. This means that depression in men often goes undiagnosed. Male depression often shows up as irritability, anger, and with physical ailments (See
