What spirituality means to me

I’m glad to be answering this wonderful question asked by @ecotrain.

"WHAT DOES SPIRITUALITY MEAN TO YOU?"

You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul. Swami Vivekananda

Spirituality to me is searching for a meaning to life, and this search can be finding something extra in life to cling to. Believing that there is a higher power, a higher Authority who is above everyone who we can see physically.

It is seeing and knowing that there is more to the world than what we see physically.

To me spirituality is all about one’s inner life, it can be those beliefs we have, and what we practice. like;

beliefs

• When we pray and believe that there is a higher authority who listens and answers our prayers, so we wait and expect our prayers to be answered.

• We have the faith and believe that things are going to work out for our good.

• It is trying to live in the consciousness of what is right or wrong as you can be punished when you do something wrong, not by any physical authority.

These beliefs are some of the beliefs I believe is associated with spirituality.

practice

• Happiness: In spirituality true happiness is when you are satisfied with whatever you have and you are happy in any situation you are in at the moment, because you have the faith that things are going to turn out good afterwards.

• Kindness: Helping out the need is an act of spirituality, because of the belief “Do unto others what you wish to be done unto you”. You give them expecting nothing in return from them.

• Grace: Grace is an act of spirituality, it involves showing love and mercy to those who think or fell like they don’t deserve it.

These practices is seen as the act of being spiritual.
