This is the oldest photo I can find atm, which is puzzling because I KNOW I took photos when I bought the cedar chest from the Salvation Army Thrift Store.

So if you will look, you can see where two of the three 1.5 inch hinges were recessed. One in the middle and one on either end.
They were totally inadequate, and all this time I've had to be very careful with it.

I spent about 45 min this morning sawing, hammering and chiseling to get the new PIANO hinge recessed. I had no power tools and no extra hands, so it is a sloppy job.

I'm sure my neighbors were THRILLED with the noises, but I waited until after 11, so they shouldn't have been TOO disturbed.

Here you can see the new piano hinge more clearly, and the old recess for one of the original hinges

Since I moved here last Sept, the cedar chest has been along the wall in front of that board.

So here we are, at the foot of my bed with blankets, pillows and a sleeping bag.
Job done and well done, I think

A job well done! It always feels good to finish a DIY project and more satisfying when you have done it without help or fancy tools!
Yes ma'am, that is correct, although there were a few moments I wished I had someone to hold something while I did something else, or hammered or screwed.
But it all worked out
Good to see you Mama Ceci @cecicastor
