It's more like a spring - it kind of gushes water and you just shove a bottle under it - it's pretty quick. It'll fill 10 litres in well under a minute.

It is very good to have springs of water. Our neighborhood is connected to a local well but it requires electricity meaning if we lose power, then we lose water. So, we store containers of water in the house just in case.

Sounds like storage is essential.

I have a manual bucket system atm but am planning on getting a pump.

I've got a lot of work ahead of me getting my water system sorted properly!

Would it be possible for you to get solar power or water power or anything else that could be alternative like a backup or as a primary source for electricity?

I do have a 100W portable solar system which is plenty for my basic needs, I've also got access to grid electricity in the cabin I rent 40 mins drive away, so it's all fairly easy!
