ecoTrain QOTW 8.7 BONUS QUESTION! What Do We Fear, Why Do We Fear?

in ecoTrain4 years ago

That's a very interesting one. Let me start answering this question by first narrating one personal incident.

Around 2 years back, I had connected with one psychic reader. I do Tarot readings myself but at that point of time I needed help as I was dealing with my hubby's health issues and I needed a neutral guidance. This psychic reader is one fabulous person I have come across in my life, she lives in California and connects with people online.
So while we were doing my readings, Monica mentioned to me that why do I feel so insecure about my Son. That was the fact then and she could get the message clearly. My Son being an activist and always raising out his voice against the government, I was always in that fear that hope no harm happens to him and always feeling very insecure about him. I told Monica about this and she knew my Son as well, because they also had connected. She gave me this very beautiful piece of advice, and from that day onwards it has been ingrained into me deeply and I mindfully follow it.

She mentioned to me, that I should release all the fear and rather completely remove that word from my dictionary. I should be concerned of him and not be fearful for him, because fear will attract what I do not want to happen for him, and that was such a gem of an advice. She mentioned to me how Fear impacts our immune system as well. It increases the stress levels in the body and impacts the immune system. So Fear just does not attract what you do not wish but also it impacts the physical health and mental health as well. So is it worth it?
When we show concern we send out compassionate energies to the opposite person and also for self, but fear sends out wrong signals.

From that day onwards, I have tried my best to eliminate this word Fear from my dictionary and I must tell you, it works wonderfully.

Coming back to the question, What do we Fear and Why do we Fear?
What do we Fear- We can fear almost anything and everything for which we do not know what the outcome is going to be. Or we can fear things in general where majority of people have formed some opinion of fear around it. We can also fear something based on our past experiences, or from some traumas. And then there are some very unexplainable fears, like phobias which can be triggering from past life experiences as well. There is another type of fear, which I was trapped into, fear of the security of our loved ones. There is fear of Authority as well.
Fear of the result of an action, fear of heights, fear of darkness, fear of water, fear of people, fear of places, fear of loneliness, fear of animals, fear of ghosts, fear of relationships, fear of our loved ones, and it goes on and on..... but what comes out in all is either it is about the unknown or it is about safety, security and stability of our existence.

Why do we Fear
Whenever security and stability is at question we can come into the fear mode. When we are uncertain about what the outcome is we can fear about it. Extreme authority can make us fearful. A very hard teacher will make a child fearful, a very hard parent will make a child fearful. Because they build barriers with this authority where the opposite person feels very uncomfortable reaching out. And the uncertainty of their reactions makes the opposite person fearful.
Insecurity makes us fearful, like how I was for my son. I always felt very insecure about his safety and that made me fearful.
When we sit on a rollercoaster ride for the very first time, we do not know what the feeling and experience is going to be like so we may feel fearful. But then once we experience it we may not have the same feeling. Then it would be a like or a dislike.
We may feel fearful of darkness because we do not know what lies within the darkness.
The current situation of Covid has made many people so fearful and why is that? Because they feel if they get Covid they may lose their loved ones or self in the sickness or suffer in the illness. That's a different thing that this fear is inculcated with constant media messaging. But the basic reason why people fear it is because they feel, they or their loved ones may die in it or suffer in it. In turn this all the more impacts their health and they attract these negative energies more to them. In such situations one has to be mindful, concerned and take necessary preventive measures but not be fearful and shut down completely. Some people have not stepped out of their home for months in fear of getting Covid.

One thing is for sure, When it is your time to go, no one can stop, then it can be due to covid or by just walking on the road and getting hit by a car. These are all reasons, but death is inevitable in the time it has to come.

Fear is also about conquering your own weakness. Because these are the weak areas of yourself where you need to strengthen up. Almost everyone has some or the other type of Fear, but more important is, do we face it or do we live with it?

Yes death is inevitable, mostly that's the biggest fear for people. There is nothing that will make us fear if death is not involved.

Yes, but one other aspect I also see for fear is insecurity for our loved ones. We always feel over protected for our very dear ones and that also inculcates fear in us.
