I think that it is going to happen because data privacy and individual financial autonomy are more import than the right to bear arms at this point. As more value gets moved into the digital economy I'm not sure how governments are going to force tax collection without knowing very detailed data tracking information and assuming everyone is guilty until proven innocent.

Maybe a better way would be by crowd sourcing funding for projects paid out of a big government funding pool and rewarding people in tokens for contributing.

The big problem I see now is that the government spends more that it takes in and those expenses don't necessarily align with what people need most. The government funding pool could grow at a certain rate, perhaps controlled by policy or fixed algorithms. You could get rewarded for voting on spending issues from the pool up to a certain basic income level.

Just ideas, I'm not sure how workable they are.
