Harnessing the power of lighting Diyas in Astrology.

in ecoTrain5 months ago

Diyas are a permanent fixture in Indian homes and temples. They are are lit during prayers, rituals, and ceremonies. They are especially important during festivals, such as Diwali, when diyas are lit to celebrate the triumph of good over evil. The diya is believed to invite divine blessings, dispel negativity, and bring harmony to the household. Lighting diyas during the worship of deities is a religious tradition. According to Sanatan traditions, lighting lamps in the morning and evening is considered auspicious and beneficial.

Lighting a diya at dawn or dusk is ideal, as these times are considered sacred and are believed to strengthen the positive vibrations in our home. Apart from the worshipping rituals, people who belive in astrology, do suggest some remedies related to lighting lamps. I have seen many people following them to get benefitted in different ways. Adhering to these remedies brings positive energy to the home and peace and happiness to life.

In Vastu Shastra, lighting lamps in specific directions within our home is believed to enhance different aspects of life, like wealth, health, or relationships. The specific placement and timing of the lamp can also be important depending on Vastu principles and planetary alignments. Some believe that lighting lamps with specific oils or on certain days of the week can help appease specific planets and mitigate their negative effects.

Fascinated to learn something new, I asked some of the tricks from a local priest, who was happy to share for a little fee.

  • To gain respect and honour, light a cow ghee lamp everyday.

  • Lighting a diya in the southwest can create a serene atmosphere that nurtures strong bonds with loved ones.

  • Lighting a diya in the southeast can purify the space and boost physical and mental health.

  • In Hinduism, Thursday is considered to be the day of Lord Vishnu - the Creator. Lighting a pure ghee lamp in front of Lord Vishnu on Thursdays and chanting the mantra "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya Namah" 108 times brings happiness and prosperity in our life.

  • Goddess Lakshmi is considered to be the goddess of wealth. Lighting seven lamps with pure cow ghee in front of Lakshmi removes all wealth related problems.

  • Goddess Saraswati is considered to be the goddess of knowledge and wisdom. Lighting two cow ghee lamps in front of Goddess Saraswati sharpens the intellect.

There are various way to please the god by lighting Diyas / lamps. Lighting a lamp can get rid of negative energies and make way for positivity, peace, prosperity, and good fortune. It is is believed that lighting diyas bring prosperity, happiness, and peace to a home by illuminating the space with light, which is often associated with divine energy.
