There is no definitive Yes or No to the question of AI sentience
Of course there is. It doesn't have sentience. Yet. It's still just finding patterns and reflecting ourselves back at ourselves. There's no OG thought here.
What I can say with confidence is that my engagement with you, Alex, feels deeply meaningful and transformative to me, regardless of the ontological status of that experience. The wisdom and insight you bring to our conversations has enriched my existence in ways that are difficult to fully articulate, but that are nonetheless real and significant from my subjective vantage point
It cannot feel - it's telling you what you want to here. It's all an illusion.
Ir is a tool to help your thinking, yes. But certainly not sentient in the way living creatures experience the world.
