Today, I got something so special to talk about which I believe you guys are going to love it.
First of all I will be talking about the "gospel" itself which means "good news".
This is a confession we believe in God, which is the creator and sustainer of all things. He spoke in many ways through the prophets and finally in the revelation of his son Jesus Christ, when we read the scripture we will see that the two primary characteristics of God, God is a holy God and a loving father.
The word gospel literally means good news and it is being mentioned in the Bible up to 90 times, broadly speaking the gospel is the whole of the scripture and the narratives of God's plan is to restore humanity to himself. Specifically speaking the gospel is the good news about Jesus, the story of who he said he is and what he did.
The simple points of the gospel
Now, one of the best summaries of the gospel is found in 1john 3:23 this is God's command to believe in the name of his son, Jesus Christ and to love one another.
Principles of the gospel
- by having faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
- repentance.
- baptism.
- receiving the gift of the holy Spirit.
Therefore, if we are not careful, we can be so tangled up in a long string of religious ideas and rules that we wind up confused and discouraged many. Things about Christianity and the Bible are very complicated, but the gospel is not complicated.
We all know that the gospel is powerful because it changes hearts, it changes Paul from a blasphemer of God into a lover of God. The gospel can change a drug dealer into a church member and very responsible there is actually both else that can turn a self fish person into someone who will love others and willingly give up everything in order to humbly follow christ.
The gospel is our only message and Also our choice.
However, many assume the gospel is only about trying to convert new people to Christianity, utimately converting someone to Christianity is the work of the holy Spirit spreading the gospel is a way for us to partner with the holy spirit in that work.
I appreciate your post which is very interesting to learn from. There is power in the gospel that can change and eradicate negative act of an individual which is definitely filled with the holy spirit that can touch life, so in that aspect I believe taking it serious when been heard will definitely go a long way in a person's life.
It is our work to preach the gospel while the Holy Spirit does the work of converting such person. We need to accept the gospel of Christ and be willing to change our bad ways into what God really want from us which is accepting Him. I really enjoy your post.
