Thai basil is growing from the top of the 'pot'.
This is what it looked like back in April.
Grown from the seeds of a cherry tomato which was still hanging on the vine in February.

Good work sir, I never thought of the tomato thingy - I have a balcony (veranda? - one of those things) perfect for that setup..
The only thing I would say about this set-up is that the pot wants to be bigger. More soil = more tomatoes. Also, this one dries out super fast and needs watering at least twice a day. Have fun!
We're not concerned about yield on this project (Luce is scoutin' for suitable containers as I type!lol).
We have plenty of space for 'earth bound tommies', but what it does do, is create a more private space on our balcony/veranda ( whatever it's fucking called).
We don't do flowers and shit - it's about function - so 8 or 9 plants would do the job nicely...
This is so great! Plants know what to do.
Today we planted 2 jackfruit trees, a mamey tree and and avocado. These are the first trees to go in to the land where we plan to build homes in the future! Once, the papaya trees get a bit bigger we'll plant a small grove there as well.
They really do hey. Something else I've noticed now that I am more connected with the plants here is that they all ripen at different times, kindly permitting humans clear windows of opportunity to forage/harvest each variety. At the moment we are on hazelnuts :)
Great work with food forest! Never heard of a mamey tree till now. Will have to google it now...
