WHAT DON'T PEOPLE TALK ABOUT ENOUGH? (ECOTRAIN QOTW)

This week's question is a challenge that really makes me stop and think for a moment about all those things that we do not talk about very often and we are not giving them the importance they require.

I am Venezuelan, I was born in a country rich in oil, where my parents could afford the luxury of choosing between sizes and brands, but unfortunately in recent years has been hit hard by the economy, which has triggered a host of negative consequences that have dragged with the entire Venezuelan population.

This has undoubtedly caused the migration of a large part of the population, but what has happened to those of us who decided to stay, do we still have faith that someday this crisis will pass? We live day by day in a constant struggle with the shortage of some basic foodstuffs, the serious problems of the electrical system, the immense shortage of medicines and to complete the high number of deaths due to the pandemic.

No doubt we live under so much pressure that we do not realize the serious damage we cause to the ozone layer with so much pollution and the burning of garbage, but we are also slowly killing the little oxygen that nature still graciously gives us..

It is outrageous the way in which they destroy large forests even when we are aware of the damage we produce for ourselves, and I can also testify to the damage that many fishermen are causing in the various rivers with the fish market.

When we go to the market we have been able to observe that there is no quality if not quantity of fish that do not have the appropriate size to be extracted from the waters, much less consumed by society, what can we expect from these actions? Simply that tomorrow the fish will become extinct and future generations will not be able to enjoy what we 'can today'..

The same happens with many animals that live on the streets without a home that can provide them with the care they need, nowadays a vehicle or a motorcycle passes by and takes a dog and people simply say "that's one less dog in the world" because we lack the essence of love and humility, we are not hurt by the way our bad actions destroy our planet.

In the same way, there are so many children in this country who have been the main victims due to the problems of famine, unleashing a prostitution network where the main protagonists are girls between 11 and 15 years old who, not having an economically stable home, have taken to the streets to sell their bodies to obtain money to take to their families, but who talks about it?

We are immersed at every instant in an insensitive world that only thinks of the needs of the moment but is leaving nothing for tomorrow. This also leads me to think about the number of marriages that fail today, we are so incapable of opening a dialogue with our partner even about the things that are fundamental to our needs that we prefer to be unhappy to the point of exploding.

It is time to wake up and raise our voices, to react and say enough is enough, to abuse, pollution, burning, cutting down trees, food shortages, extinction of animals, to live without being happy and love without being reciprocated. Let's stop for a few moments and say it is time to do something to improve the planet and take action, because if we all thought like this for a moment there would be hope for a better future.

Hi @silgeiram29, no doubt this is an uncommon topic in the conversations we establish on a daily basis with our friends or family and perhaps it is because of what you mention "we are embarrassed that we might be pointed out that we are not doing a good job with it". However this goes hand in hand with the lack of parental supervision of their children when they are immersed in technology, and this is caused by:

  1. Parents are too busy minding their own business and neglect their children.
  2. They find it unimportant or unimportant what their children do with technology.
  3. They prefer to keep them busy so that they are not interrupted during their activities. Among other reasons.
Anyway, excellent topic, thanks for sharing. Regards
