Entender la sostenibilidad es importante no solo para cada individuo, sino también para el desarrollo de las sociedades, ya que se trata de la vida, de la posibilidad de mantenerse, así como de la convivencia en nuestro entorno de una manera sostenible.
La sostenibilidad implica toda acción que permita cuidar, restablecer o mantener las diferentes energías, e igual el equilibrio con el cual encontramos la vida en nuestro entorno, haciendo énfasis en la capacidad de regeneración coexistencia y evolución. Una nueva visión del desarrollo para el desarrollo.
Ahora bien, el término “vida holística” se refiere más al estilo de permanecer y convivir en el lugar que ocupamos, el estilo de vida intenta acentuar las capacidades propias de auto mantenimiento, auto curación y hasta auto compasión del ser. Algo como ocuparnos de nosotros mismos, pero con un enfoque que puede aludir a países, continentes o el mundo entero.

En la actualidad es casi moda o tendencia hablar de sostenibilidad ambiental, ya que todas las proyecciones de vida humana apuntan al flagelo del desastre, el quiebre del entorno, la destrucción de los recursos y la dificultad para vivir, sin detener el tiempo o el desarrollo y esto cada día se acentúa.
Por tal motivo, existe un movimiento social económico y ambientalista que se preocupa e invierte por hacer crecer en la conciencia en los hombres, ideas sobre la necesidad de equilibrio que tenemos para mantener la sostenibilidad ambiental intacta. Esfuerzos individuales, conferencias, movimientos, artistas, organismos internacionales, muchos entes apuntando en el mismo sentido.

La Organización de las Naciones Unidas nos deja la idea de que "sostenibilidad es la acción de satisfacer las necesidades sin comprometer otras generaciones"; esto es, debemos consumir y gastar lo necesario para poder preservar el futuro. Algo complejo con el comportamiento individualista actual, o las ansias de poder de aquellos que llegan a ser líderes.
Es decir, todo un panorama complicado cuando vemos que el mundo en la actualidad retrocede a los enfrentamientos bélicos, cuando una parte de la humanidad corre peligro de extinción eminente. O desde otro panorama, algunos países siguen sometidos a regímenes comunistas, que lejos están de pensamientos holísticos; más bien causan desesperación, hambre y miedo, podemos ver por ejemplo a Venezuela donde ni la cultura ecológica se visualiza en los supermercados o tiendas.
¿Cuáles aspectos de la sostenibilidad y la vida holística son importantes para mí?
Dentro de los aspectos de la sostenibilidad y vida holística que considero importantes, desde un punto de vista personal, es dar prioridad al mantenimiento de los recursos naturales, invertir tanto en las necesidades económicas como en el mantenimiento del ambiente, fortalecer las políticas gubernamentales y ambientales que permitan tener como prioridad el ecosistema en la sociedad y fortalecer ante todo la educación ciudadana en valores sostenible desde un enfoque holístico.

What aspects of sustainability and holistic living are important to me?
Among the aspects of sustainability and holistic life that I consider important, from a personal point of view, is to give priority to the maintenance of natural resources, to invest in both economic needs and in the maintenance of the environment, to strengthen governmental and environmental policies that allow to have as a priority the ecosystem in society and to strengthen above all citizen education in sustainable values from a holistic approach.
Por ejemplo, en mi país comenzar con las escuelas llevándolas a los entornos naturales para concientizar el mantenimiento de los recursos del planeta, esto sería sin duda un aprendizaje positivo.
Pero definitivamente el mundo nunca está de acuerdo, por ejemplo, aunque algunas tendencias de pensamiento juzguen el concepto de sostenibilidad, argumentando fallas en los razonamientos o diferencias entre altruismos, es conocido que algunas ciudades desarrolladas han invertido positivamente en estos ecosistemas sustentables.
Los nuevos paradigmas serán de equilibrio económico y natural que permitirán en un futuro perpetuar la vida, con este tipo de desarrollo estaremos acentuando el bienestar de todos. Yo apuesto por aquellos altruistas que creen en este tipo de evolución.
