Badass consumerism πŸ›

The temperature is dropping here in the north of England still kinda warm for December though, were still smashing out double figures on some days. Although today was a belter only a few degrees, there was a low bright sun was cracking it were. Wondering around town observing all the consumerism going on around me ahh perfection. Me I'm holding back to wait for the sales or when everything goes back to the normal price with all the postal strikes nothing will get there on time anyway!...

Hey little money saver tip from the Vibe for you πŸ‘ŒπŸ½

In all honesty, it is nice to see the high street busy and shops rolling in the real cash, come on we have to be positive. That kinda brings me on to the cash thing actually. It's so hard to use cash these days, mainly because of the lack of cash points and the online thing. Hands up πŸ™ŒπŸ½, I do most of my shopping online but it's hard to get organic vegan food in town. Yes, they have it, but at a hefty price and then it's wrapped and wrapped again in plastic. We did have a container free shop,...

Is that what you call it? No no, it's a Refill shop!

but it went bust. I think she ventured into too many things but needed to bring in the money, a vicious circle. You could say this was part of the plan! They make the good stuff too expensive so people eat all the processed shit full of chemicals and god knows what else these days, a lot of badass energy that's for sure. Dumb then down into goo little consumer. Let's face it eating all that processed food not only messes with your slender figure and dashing looks but it also damages the brain. I mean they're even beginning to call Dementia Diabetes type three! Sugar is bad shit guy shock horror! We all know this but sadly if we can't afford the good stuff what choice do we have? More reason than ever to grow your own and even share with friends! It this be the only way plus it tastes much better anyways. Build a little tribe and share your produce or trade skills for it. You also have to get into seasonal eating which balances us with the ecosystem more, eating all the exotic food is great but our local ecosystem provides us with the food and mineral we need. Bloody magic old Gaia isn't she! 🌎

Anyway let's be fucking festive then shall we ⛄️. This year I have been thinking about getting a tree πŸŽ„ but that's as far as it goes. This my friends is to celebrate the Winter Solstice or Yule as it is also called.

Bit more Pagan although I don't like religion

The original use of the Christmas tree...

Haha look at Vibe getting all Druidy now he's in training!

One in a pot I can keep in the Jardin be sustainable and all that. Plus I like Pine trees...

Or Spruce depends on how picky you are?

they have a lot of medical benefits as well as some cracking energy, I think anyway! I did have a stunner of a specimen in my garden but had to chop it down as it was blocking all the light and also have been planted without not attention to how the root might grow or the space it would require. Ooh and a wreath to that's my effort, bloody good I'd say from the last few years!

Let's finish on a bit of History πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸŽ“

I briefly looked into the meaning of "Bah Humbug"; to my pleasure, it means something I actually connect with. Are you ready? Are you? Here is the definition that was written by someone else in proper English ( I couldn't find a name so won't credit them) :

' The phrase is often misunderstood. When Scrooge decries Christmas as a β€˜humbug’, it is often taken as a general exclamation of displeasure and bitterness, but Scrooge didn’t just hate Christmas at the start of the tale – he deemed it to be a complete fraud.

Although associated forevermore with anti-Christmas cheer, the word β€˜humbug’ was in common parlance long before Dickens wrote his festive novella in 1843, and was meant as a hoax or deceit.'

So that's a wrap folks!

Hello Vibe, how are you? Good to see you around. We don't do too badly for vegan food in Leicester, although I'm not sure our refill shop made it through the pandemic. We still have Currant Affairs in the town (delicious cakes and savouries, it's a hard choice every time), and the Wholefood Co-op in a light industrial unit on the edge of the City Centre (cheaper rent, wider stock, also deliver).

Good to hear. Building back slowly here bit it a slow process πŸ™πŸΌ.

Come and see us in the Saturday Savers Club over on the @eddie-earner account, nice group of people all trying to build. We have fun and giveaway tokens.

It's crazy how healthy food's more expensive. Growing your own food makes sense! But hey that looks delish!

Yes, the garden will thrive next year. Worked out the best spot in the last few years 🀞🏼.

We have a few cracking spots here πŸ™πŸΌ
