Virtual Asset Law Enforcement
In Korea, the Virtual Asset User Protection Act, which aims to protect users of the virtual asset market and eradicate unfair trade, will go into effect on the 19th.
👉 Under this law, cryptocurrency users will be able to receive interest on their deposits on exchanges.
They will also be protected from accidents at cryptocurrency exchanges such as hacking and computer failures.
Cryptocurrency operators are required to store at least 80% of the economic value of users' crypto assets in cold wallets (offline wallets).
The insurance obligation also applies immediately. According to the User Protection Act, cryptocurrency providers must either purchase insurance with a coverage limit of at least 5% of the value of cryptocurrencies held in hot wallets (online wallets) or set aside an equivalent amount as a reserve.
From the 19th, it will also be impossible to block deposits and withdrawals, which is not allowed under the User Protection Act. The reasons for such blocking are: computer failure of information systems, court investigations, National Tax Service, financial authorities, etc.

가상자산법 시행
대한민국에서는 가상자산 시장 이용자를 보호하고 불공정 거래를 근절하기 위한 '가상자산 이용자 보호법'이 19일부터 시행된다.
👉이 이용자보호법에 따라 가상자산 이용자들은 거래소 내 예치금에 따른 이자를 받을 수 있다.
또 해킹이나 전산장애 같은 가상자산 거래소 사고로부터 보호받을 수 있다.
가상자산사업자는 콜드월렛(오프라인 상태의 지갑)에 이용자 가상자산 경제적 가치 80% 이상을 보관해야 한다.
보험 가입 의무도 바로 적용된다. 이용자보호법에 따라 가상자산사업자는 핫월렛(온라인 상태의 지갑)에 보관 중인 가상자산 가치의 5% 이상을 보상 한도로 하는 보험에 가입하거나, 해당 금액을 준비금으로 적립해야 한다.
이용자보호법상 허용되지 않는 '입출금 차단'도 19일부터 할 수 없다. 해당 차단사유는 정보시스템등에 전산장애가 발생한 경우 , 법원 수사기관 국세청 금융당국 등에 관련 법령에 따라 요청한 경우 , 해킹 등 사고가 발생하였거나 발생할 것이 명백히 예상되는 경우다.
