If person wey never hear about Korea before ask me to talk about the country, the first thing wey go come my mind na how beautiful and unique that place be not just in looks, but in the way the people carry themselves and live. Korea no be just one country you hear about; it’s a story, a feeling, and a culture that gets into your heart once you see it.
The first time I got curious about Korea was through music. I remember one of my friends introduced me to a K-pop song, and at first I just laugh. I say, “wetin these people dey even sing?” But after small time, I begin enjoy the rhythm, the dance, and the passion inside. That was when I realized Korea get something different something deep and powerful in how they express themselves through art.
If I go describe Korea, I no go only talk about their technology and city life even though e dey make sense. The modern Korea wey we see today is full of light, innovation, and smart people. From Samsung phones to K-dramas, Korea don show the world how creativity and hard work can turn a small nation into global name. But behind all that, there’s still a strong root of respect, tradition, and culture wey they no forget.
One thing wey always touch me be how Koreans respect people, especially elders. Their bowing culture, for example, na something I really admire. It might look very small, but it has a big meaning humility and honor. It reminds me vividly of how in my own culture (Nigeria), Yoruba people kneel or prostrate to greet elders, I feel a deep connection. Then there’s the food oh, Korea food sweet no be small! I never visit yet, but I don try kimchi and ramen from local Korean shop, and the taste just make you feel warm inside. Their meals no be just for filling stomach; it’s about togetherness.
If I be Korea’s storyteller to the world, I go say this: Korea is a land of balance between old and new, quiet and loud, tradition and change. It’s a country that teaches the world that progress no mean forgetting where you come from.
And that’s why, to me, Korea no be just a place on map it’s a spirit of resilience, culture, and beauty that everyone need to experience in their own way.
