¿Cuándo fue la última vez que salí de mi zona de confort?, preguntan las increíbles damas de Ladies of Hive.
Puedo decir que desde hace siete meses más o menos he abandonado una de mis zonas de confort para asumir nuevas responsabilidades de trabajo. A pesar de que tengo una vida completa conviviendo en el medio cultural, no es lo mismo ser usuario o público que dirigir. Es un trabajo hermoso, que amo profundamente y lleno de retos.
Desde muy joven conocí los talleres literarios en una casa de cultura emblemática de mi ciudad, la Casa Ramos Sucre, que lleva el nombre de uno de los poetas más importantes de la modernidad literaria venezolana. José Antonio Ramos Sucre es para los escritores de mi ciudad y de mi país, y para una enorme cantidad de intelectuales y escritores de otras latitudes, un prodigio. En esa casa me formé como escritora y tuve el privilegio de conocer, escuchar y convivir con muchos intelectuales y artistas locales y extranjeros. Fue una época dorada durante mis años de estudiante universitaria y de joven profesional. Y aun cuando para hoy a esta Casa le ha tocado sufrir muchas de las horribles y absurdas vicisitudes (llamémoslo de ese modo) de mi país y de mi universidad, sigue siendo una Casa hermosa y una institución sólida. Es un privilegio dirigir su actividad.
En este corto tiempo al frente, en circunstancias contextuales y presupuestarias extraordinariamente difíciles, con la amable concurrencia de un pequeño equipo y de amigos de la Casa hemos abarcado una programación cultural amplia y rica, que me ha hecho sentirme orgullosa de las capacidades y el talento de la gente de mi ciudad. ¿Qué he conseguido?, preguntan también las increíbles Ladies of Hive.

He conocido gente increíblemente talentosa, he podido conocer a más de setenta escritores con deseos de aprender en los talleres literarios, he podido participar de la oportunidad de que mi ciudad vea fotografías y dibujos hermosos, he podido abrir la puerta a quienes traen la música y el canto y la danza... En fin, he estado allí para acompañar esa enorme potencia. Creo que estoy saliendo de mi zona de confort para entrar en lo que podría ser mi zona de crecimiento personal.
Y es muy grato descubrirlo.

I can say that for seven months or so I have left one of my comfort zones to take on new work responsibilities. Although I have a complete life living together in the cultural environment, it is not the same to be a user or a public as to direct. It’s a beautiful job, which I love deeply and full of challenges. From a very young age I knew the literary workshops in a house of emblematic culture of my city, the Casa Ramos Sucre, which is named after one of the most important poets of Venezuelan literary modernity.José Antonio Ramos Sucre is for the writers of my city and my country, and for a huge number of intellectuals and writers from other latitudes, a prodigy. In that house I trained as a writer and had the privilege of knowing, listening and living with many local and foreign intellectuals and artists. It was a golden age during my years as a college student and as a young professional. And even though for today this House has had to suffer many of the horrible and absurd vicissitudes (let us call it that) of my country and of my university, it is still a beautiful House and a solid institution. It is a privilege to direct their activity.
In this short time ahead, in contextual and budgetary circumstances extraordinarily difficult, with the kind attendance of a small team and friends of the House we have encompassed a wide and rich cultural programming, that has made me proud of the capabilities and talent of the people of my city. What have I achieved?, ask the incredible Ladies of Hive. I have met incredibly talented people, I have been able to meet more than seventy writers with desire to learn in literary workshops, I have been able to participate in the opportunity for my city to see beautiful photographs and drawings, I have been able to open the door to those who bring music and singing and dance... Anyway, I’ve been there to accompany that huge power. I think I’m coming out of my comfort zone to get into what could be my personal growth zone. And it’s really nice to find out.

En las fotos puedes ver asiduos de las actividades que allí programamos. Sin embargo, debo decir que.mi fotografía favorita es la de las dos ancianas, cultoras populares de mi ciudad, bailando joropo estribillo, al modo en que se usa en el oriente de mi país cuando no hay suficientes parejas hombres (o "parejos", cómo se les dice popularmente), es decir, las damas se "emparejan" entre sí.
Wow fascinante me encanta vibro muchísimo con la cultura popular, escríbenos más, por ejemplo las diversiones orientales. Un gran regocijo de verdad que si. Felicitaciones por seguír cultivado lo nuestro 💖
