Saludos cordiales para todas las hiver amigas que hacen vida en esta estupenda comunidad y que semanalmente, nos entusiasmamos a participar en una nueva edición de los concursos Ladies of Hive. En esta oportunidad, estoy complacida en responder desde mi experiencia personal, ambas propuestas del concurso # 93; asi que sin mas preámbulos, voy con mi entrada:.
Cuando era niña, escuchaba con frecuencia: "No puedes ser HELADERA porque eres una niña".
Jajaja, comienzo con una carcajada porque esta afirmacion me trae muy bonitos recuerdos de mi infancia, de hecho, tal vez mi respuesta les parezca un poco atípica, pero como todo niño, me encantaban los helados; mas bien, era adicta a ellos a mis escasos cinco años de edad y se me iba el dia en estar pendiente cuando pasaran los heladeros ambulantes que solian recorrer mi sector; para que mi mama me comprara a diario uno o varios helados, según las veces que pasaran; escuchar las campanas del carrito de helados era música para mis oídos y ruido para los de mi mami que creo, llego hasta el punto de implorarles silenciar sus campanas al estar cerca de casa .
Por eso yo decía con frecuencia: .
”Cuando sea grande, yo quiero ser HELADERA”
Claro, yo lo único que pensaba era en que podía comerme todos los helados del carrito y nada mas; pero mi familia me reiteraba: “No puedes ser HELADERA porque eres una niña". Ser heladero es trabajo de hombres o acaso has visto pasar por aquí alguna mujer manejando un carrito de helados? No dudo que de no evolucionar el sistema de venta de helados, las calles de mi ciudad y del mundo entero hubiesen estado impregnadas de amplia diversidad de mujeres “HELADERAS” como todo el mercado laboral hoy dia; o quizás, mi mama en su corta visión futurista, no había considerado a la amiga de la imagen a continuación.
Bueno, también escuche reiteradas veces cosas ante las cuales mostre rebeldía por considerlas ilógicas y retrogradas. Por ejemplo, la mujer es el sexo débil y el hombre, el sexo fuerte; la mujer es de la casa y el hombre, es de la calle; el hombre puede ser infiel por su naturaleza, la mujer se desvirtua; los quehaceres del hogar, son para las mujeres, no para los hombres; los hombres no lloran y otras vagas expresiones mas
En retorica a todo esto yo me preguntaba:
" Si la mujer es el sexo débil, entonces porque Dios no escogio al hombre para soportar los dolores de parto? Si el hombre es de la calle, quiere decir que la casa es solo propiedad nuestra? No dudo que la mujer se desvirtua siendo infiel, pero un hombre mujeriego y sin vergüenza, no es para nada honorable; honorable es aquel hombre respetuoso y comprometido con su relación, que hace feliz de mil maneras a una sola mujer y no infeliz a mil mujeres de la misma manera. Por otro lado, no hay nada mas bonito que compartir todo en pareja y mas aun, los quehaceres del hogar, que forman parte de la cotidianidad y enriquecen la relacion y que los hombres no lloran? Solo que hayan nacido sin conducto lagrimal! "
Sin duda, esas expresiones para mi, no fueron mas que paradigmas errados, ideas retrogradas que nunca secunde, ni secundo. El matriarcado, tiende a ser la base fundamental del machismo que tanto daño ha hecho a familias y sociedad en general. Por ejemplo en Venezuela, solo hay que ver como las madres hacen chistes con los genitales de sus niños diciendoles: y esto es para quien? Para las niñas verdad? Pero nunca bromean diciendo que los genitales de sus niñas, son para los niños.
Cuándo empezaste a ver cambios en las actitudes hacia las mujeres en tu vida y qué crees que provocó esos cambios? Por favor, da algunos ejemplos.
Sin lugar a dudas, la primera vez que fui conciente de evidentes cambios de actitudes hacia nosotras fue en mi época universitaria en la carrera de Electromedicina en los años 90; donde era imponente nuestra presencia en las aulas de clases y nuestro destacado desempeño académico; profesores y autoridades universitarias reconocían y alababan nuestra inteligencia e ímpetu de superacion. Particularmente, en mi grupo de estudios solo habían tres hombres benditos entre todas las mujeres, a pesar de ser una carrera técnica inherente a equipos médicos, de la cual, se pensaba que era campo para hombres.
La situación era similar en otras carreras universitarias como medicina, ingenieria, contaduría publica, derecho, entre otras; donde el predominio de las mujeres era evidente. Estaba mas que claro que las mujeres estábamos convencidas de no quedarnos solo en casa atendiendo al marido, los quehaceres y teniendo hijos; sino demostrar al mundo que además de eso, somos capaces, productivas y polifaceticas .
Posterior saque una carrera humanista como el Trabajo social y al entrar a trabajar en ese campo, en la Policia del estado Falcon; me di cuenta de otro radical cambio de actitud hacia nosotras. Ya el ámbito del medio castrense, también había sido arropado por nosotras y superado las expectatiivas de la fuerza Armada; ganando a pulso el respeto y admiracion de los caballeros del entorno.
Conoci entonces, a valientes mujeres de azul de distintas edades, contexturas, razas y temperamentos que no solo destacaban en el área de la seguridad ciudadana; sino que eran esposas, madres y sensibles mujeres capaces de llevar un hogar con todas las de la ley y ser eficientes profesionales. Era de gran orgullo palpar como la Comandancia General de Policia, un territorio neto de masculinos; había dado un giro de 360 grados y estaba (y aun lo esta) siendo gerenciada por un numero significativo de efectivas profesionales que además de su impecable administración; no se andan con rodeos a la hora de salir a patear la calle y combatir la delincuencia con mano dura; literalmete, mujeres de armas tomar! .
Y con esta imagen de aguerridas féminas de azul me despido, no sin antes recalcar el gran auge de las mujeres en todos los campos laborales posibles, afines y espacios sociales de manera destacada, como muestra de nuestra integridad y potencialidades. Cordial greetings to all hiver friends who make life in this wonderful community and who every week, we get excited to participate in a new edition of the Ladies of Hive contests. On this occasion, I am pleased to answer from my personal experience, both proposals of contest # 93; So without further ado, I'll go with my entry:.
When I was a child, I often heard: "You can't be a REFRIGERATOR because you're a girl."
Hahaha, I start with a laugh because this statement brings back very nice memories of my childhood, in fact, maybe my answer seems a bit atypical, but like every child, I loved ice cream ; rather, I was addicted to them when I was barely five years old and I spent the day keeping an eye out for the traveling ice cream vendors that used to visit my sector; so that my mom would buy me one or more ice creams every day, depending on how many times it happened; Listening to the bells of the ice cream cart was music to my ears and noise to my mom's, I think, I got to the point of imploring them to silence their bells being close to home.
That's why I often said: .
”When I grow up, I want to be a REFRIGERATOR”
Of course, the only thing I thought was that I could eat all the ice cream in the cart and nothing else; but my family kept telling me: "You can't be an ice cream maker because you're a girl". Being an ice cream maker is a man's job or have you ever seen a woman driving an ice cream cart pass by here? I have no doubt that if the ice cream sales system does not evolve , the streets of my city and the whole world would have been impregnated with a wide diversity of "ICE CREAM" women like the entire labor market today; or perhaps, my mother in her short futuristic vision, had not considered the friend of the image to below.
Well, just as I heard that many times, I also heard things that I rebelled against because I considered them illogical and retrograde. For example, women are the weaker sex and men are the stronger sex; the woman is from the house and the man is from the street; the man can be unfaithful by his nature, the woman is distorted; household chores are for women, not for men; men don't cry and other vague expressions
In rhetoric to all this I wondered:
" If women are the weaker sex, then why didn't God choose men to endure the pain of childbirth? If the man is from the street, does it mean that the house is only our property? I do not doubt that the woman distorts herself by being unfaithful, but a womanizer and shameless man is not honorable at all; An honorable man is respectful and committed to his relationship, who makes a single woman happy in a thousand ways and not a thousand women unhappy in the same way. On the other hand, there is nothing more beautiful than sharing everything as a couple and even more, household chores, which are part of everyday life and enrich the relationship and that men do not cry? Just that they were born without a tear duct!" .
Without a doubt, those expressions for me were nothing more than wrong paradigms, retrograde ideas that I never supported, nor did I second. Matriarchy tends to be the fundamental basis of machismo that has done so much damage to families and society in general. For example in Venezuela, you just have to see how mothers make jokes with their children's genitals saying: and this is for whom? For girls right? But they never joke that their girls' genitals are for boys.
When did you start to see changes in attitudes towards the women in your life and what do you think caused those changes? Please give some examples.
Without a doubt, the first time I was aware of evident changes in attitudes towards us was when I was in college studying Electromedicine in the 90s; where our presence in the classrooms and our outstanding academic performance was impressive; professors and university authorities recognized and praised our intelligence and impetus for improvement. Particularly, in my study group there were only three blessed men among all the women, despite being a technical career inherent to medical equipment, which was thought to be a field for men.
The situation was similar in other university courses such as medicine, engineering, public accounting, law, among others; where the predominance of women was evident. It was more than clear that we women were convinced not to stay at home alone taking care of the husband, the chores and having children; but to show the world that in addition to that, we are capable, productive and multifaceted.
Later I took a humanistic career such as Social Work and when I started working in that field, in the Falcon State Police; I noticed another radical change in attitude towards us. Already the field of the military environment, had also been supported by us and exceeded the expectations of the Armed Forces; earning the respect and admiration of the surrounding gentlemen.
I then met brave women in blue of different ages, builds, races and temperaments who not only stood out in the area of citizen security; but they were wives, mothers and sensitive women capable of running a home with all of the law and being efficient professionals. It was of great pride to feel as the General Police Command, a clear territory of masculine; had taken a 360 degree turn and was (and still is) being managed by a significant number of effective professionals who, in addition to their impeccable administration; They don't beat around the bush when it comes to going out to hit the streets and fighting crime with a heavy hand; literally, women in arms take! .
And with this image of brave women in blue I say goodbye, not without first emphasizing the great rise of women in all possible fields of work, related fields and social spaces in a prominent way, as a sign of our integrity and potential I invite my hiver friends @santamorillo and @yurahy43 to participate in these great editions, created by us and for us with the excellence that characterizes Ladies of Hive. .
