2️⃣ The Anime and Manga style of entertainment has become very popular in the western world. What Anime or Manga character(s) do you best identify with, and why?

The world of Anime and Manga has grown beyond Japan to become a universal language of creativity, emotion, and storytelling. Among the countless series that have captured global attention, two that deeply resonate with me are Demon Slayer (anime) and My Hero Academia (manga). Both are rich with lessons about perseverance, empathy, and inner strength. The characters in these stories remind me of personal struggles, growth, and the courage it takes to rise after setbacks.

In Demon Slayer, the character I connect with most is Tanjiro Kamado. He is the symbol of compassion and determination. His story begins with tragedy, losing his family to demons and fighting to save his sister, Nezuko, who was turned into one. What inspires me most about Tanjiro is his unshakable sense of kindness, even toward his enemies. Despite all he goes through, he never allows pain to turn him bitter. I relate to that part of his personality because, in life, it’s easy to become hardened by challenges, but Tanjiro reminds me that true strength lies in keeping one’s heart pure while facing hardship.

Tanjiro’s calm spirit and willingness to learn also mirror how I approach difficult moments. He doesn’t give up when things seem impossible; instead, he focuses on growth, training harder each time he fails. That reflects how I handle personal goals and struggles, knowing that success doesn’t happen instantly, but through patience and persistence. His relationship with Nezuko also shows the importance of family, loyalty, and love, values that I hold close to my heart.

From the world of My Hero Academia, I identify most with Izuku Midoriya (Deku). His journey from being a powerless boy who still dreams of becoming a hero reminds me that passion and effort can overcome any limitation. Midoriya’s story teaches me that greatness doesn’t come from talent alone but from the determination to never give up. I see a bit of myself in his eagerness to learn, his self-doubt, and his growth into someone more confident and capable.

Both Tanjiro and Midoriya represent resilience in different ways, one through compassion and the other through ambition. They motivate me to face my own challenges with courage, no matter how small or big they seem. Watching Demon Slayer and reading My Hero Academia has shown me that heroes aren’t born perfect; they’re shaped by their choices, pain, and perseverance. These stories remind me that I, too, can grow stronger while keeping my heart kind and my dreams alive.

I love deku 😊, but I was heartbroken when he went rogue fighting crime on his own.

It is very emotional what these stories with their characters inspire in you, especially keeping the goodness inside you and fighting for your dreams, thank you for sharing your experiences, Have a nice afternoon,

I admire Tanjiro's compassion for his demonized sister, and that love for all intensive purposes keeps her human despite the urge of her demon instincts. This is one of the Animes that I am already familiar with. There were situations that are overwhelming but Tanjiro's grit, determination and desire keeps him on track and victorious. I am reminded of the adage, "The things are find most worth livng for, are the things that are worth dying for." Fine choices.
I am not familiar with Hero Acadenia but I would put it on my reading list. It's a long plane flight after all.
Thanks for sharing @ayomike
