In a generation where relationships are becoming increasingly complicated and scary, it is easy to wonder whether true love still exists.
Each day, we hear stories of new patterns of cheating, heartbreak, divorce, broken homes and relationships that end almost as quickly as they begin.
Sometimes, these stories make people believe that genuine love is becoming a thing of the past.
But does true love really exist?
I believe it does
I have seen it in my parents, I have also seen it in couples who have remained together while sailing through the difficult seasons.
Marriage is not simply about enjoying beautiful moments together nor bed of roses. It is about choosing each other repeatedly, especially when life does not go according to plan.
This is why the recent moment involving the young couple, Peller and Jarvis, caught my a hold of my attention.
In the video, Jarvis appeared with a barbed cut. We may not know the reason behind her decision, and honestly, we do not have to.
What stood out was that Peller joined her, he did not simply stand aside and watch her do something unusual. He participated in it with her.
To others it maybe a strategy in getting engagement but to me it's actually beyond that, it is a simple but powerful picture of companionship.
Love is not always about grand gestures, sometimes, love is simply saying, “If you are going through this, I will go through it with you.”
It reminds me of the words we hear in marriage vows: for better, for worse; in sickness and in health.
When you are happy, I'll be there, when you are struggling, I'll be there.
When things are going well, I'll be there, when life becomes uncomfortable, confusing or difficult, I'll still be there.
That is the kind of love many people desire
Of course, they are young, and only time will tell what their journey will look like.
But being young does not automatically mean that people cannot genuinely love, commit or be intentional about each other.
Sometimes, when people see a young couple doing well, they immediately say, “Give it time, it will soon become bitter or e go las las end for tears”
I do think some of those comments come from personal experiences and unresolved pain.
But here's what you should know that someone else's failed relationship should not become the prophecy for another person's relationship or marriage
True love exists, but it requires more than feelings. It requires patience, understanding, sacrifice, forgiveness, friendship, intentionality.
And perhaps that is what makes love beautiful, I mean two imperfect people deciding to stand beside each other through the different seasons of life.
So, does true love really exist?
Yes, it does
It may not always be perfect, and it may not always look the way we expect.
But when two people intentionally choose each other, support each other and remain present through life's circumstances, they remind us that genuine love is still possible.
Sometimes, love is not about saying, “I will fix everything for you.”
Sometimes, it is simply saying, “Whatever happens, I am here.” ❤️
What do you true love is?
The true test of love and marriage is when you go through the tough times together. Who makes the sacrifice and how much? Do we put off our goals and expectations, for how long? Give and take. True love is also the willingness to work things out even if it does not benefit each member of the marriage.
I wish all teens would learn that wisdom.

Yes, I believe true love exists. ❤️ It may not always be perfect or easy, but real love shows through patience, honesty, understanding, respect, and choosing each other even during difficult times. Sometimes, the simplest acts of care are what make love feel real. 🌷
