It the Christmas season and I think almost every one is feeling the Christmas spirit. Thanks to @ladiesofhive for always coming through with the weekly contest and topics.

My favorite Christmas food

Growing up, every Christmas we had no options but to eat what is being prepared which is white rice and stew with fried chicken and this has been going on for almost all our lives. 😂😂

Sometimes we prepared "JOLLOF RICE or even FRIED RICE " If we want to do something different from the regular.
Well this food are also most of the food we eat on a normal day but when it Christmas the food get to taste different, sometimes I wonder why it like that but then I realized it because the happiness that comes with the season made the food taste and feel special.

Nigerian party JOLLOF RICE is my favorite Christmas food, from the aroma I perceive in the kitchen down to when it been served and finally when I finish eating it,is something I can't trade for real. This food is mostly eaten/ shared in parties and get-together hence the name "PARTY JOLLOF"

There had been several arguments in West Africa on whose country has the best jollof rice, countries like Sierra Leone,Ghana,Liberia ect. These countries are always on a logger head on whose jollof rice taste better.
Well I cannot say Nigerian jollof taste better since I haven't had the opportunity to taste others, but I can assure you it worth every hype.

WHY

This particular food is the best food anyone can come across in Nigeria, especially if it is well garnish with carrots and other ingredients.

Years before now I was unable to prepare this food in a professional way, My mum would do hers on Christmas days and even after watching her for several times I was still unable to prepare mine but after several attempts and also tutorials on YouTube I was able to do it the best way I can and trust me it always comes out great.

I love jollof rice because of its unique taste especially when it been prepare with a smoke fire Gosh!!! I love it 😋😋. Also jollof rice reminds me of my family gatherings at the end of the every year, it reminds me of so many good memories and also my child hood days when I would go to children parties and all I could think of was how I'm going to get home and eat my jollof rice.
This is how jollof rice are been package and served in parties.

Once I went to a restaurant and I saw their menu, spotted Chinese rice and I decided to order, after two spoons I realized I love it and would want to try it at home. Since then I haven't gotten the chance to do so but this Christmas I would try it and I believe it will come out great.

Thank you so much for reading 💕 💕

Hello @bettybunny. This is certainly a varied food choice for the holidays. I've read several articles on Jolloff Rice. I'm sure your country's rice has its own particular flavor.
