Would you share your finances with your partner

in Ladies of Hivelast year (edited)

There is so much I think about when it comes to marriage, as a young lady who is doing all I can to build my finance and become stronger, I think about if it is a necessity to combine finances with my partner especially after hearing lots of stories on the internet. There are couples who think it is sweet to combine finance with a spouse, but there are several couples who say never to combine finances, I want to share different strategies about combining finance and what I think we need to do before we make this strong decision.

When your relationship begins to get serious, the subject of finance should not be taken for granted, you both need to ask questions and come to a conclusion about if you are going to operate finances differently or you are going to have a single purse, having this conversation before marriage is very essential as it helps you stay away from future disagreements and problems. If you both have agreed to combine finances, then answer these questions sincerely.

Are you ready to be financially honest?: When you both decide to combine finance, it means you should be ready to be transparent with everything you own and get, your side hustles included, if you have not gotten to that point when you want to be vulnerable with your finance, then does not agree to combine finances just yet, as dishonesty would lead to constant disagreement.

How many percentages are you putting in: You both have to discuss if you want to combine everything and only take from it as discussed, or do you only want to put in a certain percentage and hold on to the rest to spend at you like.

Can you share financial plans: Someone you are ready to combine finance with has to be someone who is able to share your future financial plan with you. Rub minds together on the amount you will be dropping, and what purpose it will fulfill.

Have his/her bank detailsWhile you both choose to combine your finances, just get the details of his bank/account this will help you understand every detail of his/her bank account.

Combining finances with your partner is a great deal, you need to be sure that you are ready to take that step before proceeding with the plans.

Hmmmm......I come from a generation where there was absolutely no question-what's yours is mine and what's mine is yours. I do see the need for caution in today's world as it seems marriage is unfortunately not always forever. People aren't always honest; trust is a must for sure!

I am glad that I don't have to consider everything a young woman has to consider today. Relationships can be difficult to maneuver but the world has gotten so much (I'm not sure this is the correct word) better at conning one another.

Be careful and be sure. Thanks for sharing and have a lovely day!

You are right, marriages those days used to last longer and trust was not even a problem between partners, but with the high level of deceit and break-ups these days, we really just have to be sure and ready.

It is often said that you should keep everything open with your partner, and as for me in the case of my finance, I will be open to my partner 100% and I have my reasons for that!

That's great, everyone should really stick with what works for them.

It is still up to both the couple's decision about the finances. Thanks for sharing this informative content of yours. Have a nice day. ☺️

Thanks for reading friend, have a nice day too

You're welcome. ☺️

For those who know about economics and finance we say that it is not advisable to do so, and that there are always different thoughts when it comes to using the resources, the best and healthiest is that everyone manages their money and place their participation when and where they wish

Hmmm, that sounds like a smart one to me friend, appreciate your response.
