The day began quite pleasantly -- the sun was beaming down, and a soft wind embraced us everywhere we went. The girls wanted to go to a park (no surprise there! 😂), so we figured a quick trip was in order.
El día empezó de maravilla: el sol brillaba con fuerza y una suave brisa nos acariciaba allá donde íbamos. Las chicas querían ir a un parque (¡para nada sorprendente! 😂), así que pensamos que una escapada rápida sería lo ideal.
Our girls LOVE the parks; we've been taking them ever since they were both first born.

They had a great time 🥰 As of late, the girls have been having great luck making friends their age, but unfortunately no one was there this time.
Well, unfortunately, for the girls -- it was fortunate for us parents! 😂

Regardless, the girls had a wonderful time 😁 Riley, our youngest, will be 3-years-old soon, but she is developing so fast. It took her awhile to learn climbing ladders, etc.

Shortly after the park, clouds started rolling in. However, we still took a chance and decided to venture out onto the trail next. I saw these lovely flowers blooming; these are called Lavana Camara, or Havana Full Moon. I wonder if anyone here may know of this variety.

We also came across some beautiful lilies 🥺 Lilies hold a special place in my heart; my affection for them inspired our oldest daughter's name! 😄 These are beautiful Fata Morgana Lilies.

But the red lilies are perhaps my favorite 😍 These are known as Red Asiatic Lilies.

I took a picture at the girls' favorite perch. It's a little platform that overlooks the street down below. Anytime we approach it, both girls make it their life's mission to climb on top of it 😄 This time there was some graffiti done on the wall, which I thought provided a unique vibe to the photo...

Along the trail, it started to rain a bit. However, it was no skin off our backs, for we were looking for bugs and salamanders anyway! 😂 Worms love the moist weather, and salamanders love worms, so everything worked out!
En el camino empezó a llover un poco. Pero no nos importó, ¡porque de todas formas estábamos buscando insectos y salamandras! 😂 A los gusanos les encanta la humedad, y a las salamandras les encantan los gusanos, ¡así que todo salió bien!
Thankfully, the girls were able to find some lizards. Our oldest used to be terrified of crawling critters when she was a babe, but now she is starting to take it upon herself to pick them up with her fingers!
Por suerte, las niñas lograron encontrar algunas lagartijas. Nuestra hija mayor, cuando era bebé, le tenía pánico a los bichos que se arrastraban, ¡pero ahora está empezando a cogerlos con los dedos!
They also found... a caterpillar! 😄 This is a Confused Haploa Moth Caterpillar. Some caterpillars here can be poisonous, or irritate skin with their rough barbs, but this species is okay 👍 We let the girls take it home for the night, and we are going to release him today 🙏

Algunas orugas de esta zona pueden ser venenosas o irritar la piel con sus púas ásperas, pero esta especie no causa ningún problema 👍 Dejamos que las chicas se la llevaran a casa por la noche y hoy la vamos a liberar 🙏
