We sometimes avoid looking into our own lives because it feels so uncomfortable. Pointing fingers to others and blaming others as a form of excuse is much more easier than facing the problem head on. Being sincerely honest with ourselves is actually the beginning of Real growth.
It now comes down to who we really are ?,are we actually being sincere to ourself or are we just telling ourselves sweet words just to feel good at the moments.
Being honest with our self may hurt at first, but this could be the only way of seeing clearly where you stand. Progress is definitely almost impossible without this.
When you face the honest truth about your self, is not really about being shameful , it is about owning your responsibility. When you get rid of excuses, the gap between where you are and where you want to be will begin to feel more visible. What then is capable of closing this gap ? It is only action that is capable of closing this gap, but the reality is that action only starts when you stop lying to yourself and start saying the truth.
Power is built by accountability. the more truth you accept about yourself and start working on rectifying it, the more control you will have over your life.
When you lie to yourself or should i say when you avoid honesty , you feel comfortable but the strength that you need to grow tomorrow will be taken from you.
Write down those areas of your life that you have been lying to yourself about, it could be habit, effort , or mindset. Then take action immediately, this could be small action but make sure that is directed towards personal improvement. You will become more disciplined when you practice honesty about yourself.
