When I saw the contest topic, I thought, "oh! The first time I'll be posting in this community and the question doesn't cover my age bracket". But when I read down to the comments, I learned from @joanstewarts replies that I could jump in on the 10 years remembrance. So, here it goes;
10 years ago, I was in my second year in high school, a young teen just doing her thing. So much has changed since then, I'm out of high school and on my way to living my dream.
I have beautiful memories from the past especially of how things evolved quickly. Technologically, there has been great improvements (more phones and personal gadvegs as opposed to visiting business centres, etc). I was watching a music video from when I was a much younger and the changes were very obvious. From the dance styles to the dress sense(I guess it was the rave of tha6 time and I look forward to a few years from now when our present dress styles would be considered archaic), to the beats, the venues, the make-up, the hairstyles, everything! It's been an impressive growth.

That years ago, I was so fascinated about leaving school and being an independent and free girl just like other girls who were out of school. I remember looking forward to all of the make-up and glam of the after high school life but here I am years after I am done yet I am not as thrilled of those things as I was then. They seem too mundane and unnecessary right now.
I used to think of myself then as mature and grown and took offense if anyone referred to me as a child. I disliked being treated and referred to as a child but right now, I think of other children within my age range at the time as kids. I'll sometimes say 'i was really a child'. My thinking changed.
10 years ago, there was a trend or so it seemed to me; go to school, get good grades and get married quickly. But right now, ladies no longer allow themselves to be coerced into marrying because society says so biological clock is ticking. Instead you see them striving to be better versions of themselves first. You see them opening businesses, going into crafts considered for the men, and generally taking their time. You see women who want to live their dreams or atleast make good with their life. Having better confidence, carriage and charisma. Not ashamed to live inspite of society, putting themselves first and changing the rave. Women who are not afraid to win even tho society says they should tune down on their knowledge, wealth and drive lest they become too full of themselves and end up never getting married. I'm glad they are being recognized for the values they bring and they are at the helm of affairs, involved in wonderful ventures, seizing opportunities, marketing business and bringing their A-game.

Gone are the days where Women were seen as homie, all they do is stay at home, receive money from husband and feed the family, but now things have changed, if a lady is a liability, then she's not fit to live in the current world/economy

Technological advancement was a major change looking back to ages though it has done more good.
I appreciate your point you said ladies no longer allows themselves to be forced into marriage, the best is to develop on yourself first inorder to be independent. This can help guarantee a happy married life because economical status of goods and services in the market is on an inflated rate. By doing so you will help your partner out of many finance issues. Younger generation (to myself) are most definitely thinking a lot more about creating some form of career before jumping into marriage directly after school.
Finding a career path where one is able to work from home will most definitely assist later should you decide to marry and have children where you are able to continue to grow.
