Hi ladies,
It's interesting honouring mother this month as we talked about the rewards and challenges of motherhood.
My journey to motherhood began on the 17th of April 2010 when I went to the alter to say I do with my husband but ,

before then with my mother I have learnt some do's and don't in to motherhood. Motherhood is process of experiencing maternal roles. This has to do with raising a child, wether you give birth by yourself or you adopted a child or you are guardian to some child or children, it can even be your siblings raising them make you a mother to them.
The journey into motherhood is a deliberate act and changes which involves your physical, psychological, social and relational mother- baby relationship that occurs from pregnancy to birth. These changes include:
- Physical changes this start with pregnancy to childbirth or delivery, you body language, protruding stomach, increase in the burst, widening of the cervix before the baby comes out and so on.
- Psychological changes: this has to do with one's emotional expression such mood swings, Likes and dislike especially during pregnancy.
- Change in one social understanding from being a woman to some ones mother. Imagining being called mummy...
- The change of developing a relationship with the newborn, trying to adjust between the family and others. As soon as the child comes care is divided between the new born,the father and other family members. When I gave birth to my first child joy filled my heart and I told my mother thank you for now understood what she went through to bring us forth. The day I gave birth I was so excited the midwives as soon as the baby came out the threw the baby on my stomach I was like really the baby is mine...... the most rewarding part of motherhood is it makes me grow physically, psychologically, socially emotionally and relationally. Challenges abound such looking at the precious child given up and you can't help it. Another challenge is not having enough to fund care maximal.

My greatest lessons as mom are as follows;
- I learnt organisation and management of time, the child and the family,
- learnt care given that ensuring the need of the child and the family is not a stake,
- I learnt spending quality time. I also learn having a large heart to accommodate and to tolerate.
- Finally I learnt patience.
