Since I was a little girl I always really liked the classic stories that my mom told me: Cinderella, Snow White, The Little Mermaid Ariel, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty. I dreamed of becoming the protagonist of a fairy tale, that when she was in trouble she was saved by a prince and had the typical ending of living happily ever after. But after learning the stories of Mulan and Pocahontas I realized that I preferred to see the girl that everyone underestimated, who they thought was very fragile and incapable of doing anything out of the ordinary, take a radical turn becoming the heroine of her own story, against all odds.
Society has always tried to sell us the image that girls need to comply with a standard of norms, that any inappropriate behavior turned it into a disgrace. All these absurd rules are the reasons why nowadays we see so many insecure women, who are afraid to expose their body because they may think it's vulgar; to give their opinion because they think it's unimportant; to say out loud their dreams because they may seem ridiculous.
It is becoming increasingly necessary to break all these stereotypes. If we want to wear a garment that highlights our body!let's do it!, without thinking about what others can say. Let's stop worrying about the extra or less pounds we have, stretch marks, facial hair, being too tall or too short, freckles, hair type; we are beautiful as is.
My advice for all those girls who have some complex is: pose in front of the mirror with a straight back and chin up and just at that moment you will see many imperfections reflected, it's true, but each one of them makes you unique and special.

Desde que era pequeña siempre me gustaron mucho los cuentos clásicos que me narraba mi mamá: La Cenicienta, Blancanieves, La Sirenita Ariel, Rapunzel, La Bella Durmiente. Soñaba en convertirme en la protagonista de un cuento de hadas, que cuando se encontraba en problemas era salvada por un príncipe y tuviera el típico final de vivir felices por siempre. Pero después de conocer las historias de Mulán y Pocahontas me di cuenta de que prefería ver a la chica que todos subestimaban, que opinaban que era muy frágil e incapaz de hacer algo fuera de lo común, dar un giro radical convirtiéndose en la heroína de su propia historia, en contra de todos los pronósticos.
La sociedad siempre ha intentado vendernos la imagen de que las chicas necesitan cumplir con un estandarte de normas, que cualquier comportamiento inadecuado la convertía en una deshonra. Todas esas reglas absurdas son las causantes de que hoy en día veamos tantas mujeres inseguras, que tengan miedo exponer su cuerpo porque puedan pensar que es vulgar; de dar su opinión ya que piensan que no tiene importancia; de decir en voz alta sus sueños ya que pueden parecer ridículos.
Cada vez se hace más necesario romper todos esos estereotipos. Si queremos usar una prenda en la que resalte nuestro cuerpo !hagámoslo!, sin pensar en que puedan opinar los demás. Dejémonos de preocupar por los kilos de más o de menos que tengamos , de las estrías, de los vellos faciales, de ser muy alta o muy baja, de las pecas, del tipo de cabello; somos hermosa tal cual.
Mi consejo para todas esas chicas que tengan algún complejo es: posa frente al espejo con la espalda recta y la barbilla arriba y justo en ese momento verás reflejadas muchas imperfecciones, es verdad, pero que cada una de ellas te hace única y especial.

Mas claro que esto, no se puede describir sobre lo importante que es quererse uno mismo. Y es que si no lo hacemos nosotras, como esperar que los demás si lo hagan?

Bonito mensaje, nunca está de más reivindicar nuestro poder femenino, por décadas cine y los concursos de belleza nos han hecho mucho daño. Por suerte cada día eso va cambiando. Saludos.
