In today's world, everywhere you look, we are bombarded with be this, be that, and sometimes we fall prey to those opinions. However, I think it's wonderful that you have the approach that you do.
In reality, any change (meaning somewhat drastic) alters how we were made. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and often none of us 'behold' ourselves as beautiful.
