1️⃣ October, also known as Pink Month, is here. We invite you to take advantage of these days and share your thoughts on menopause and breast cancer, remembering that as women we have an obligation to take the best possible care of ourselves.

2️⃣ When we hear the phrase: "Aging is an obligation, maturing is a choice," do you agree? Do you think aging is an obligation? Do you think maturing is option

1️⃣ October – The Pink Month
October is a special month known all over the world as the Pink Month, I use to wonder what this even mean as a child growing until I was enlightened in school through a girl-child scheme known as IGNITE that it is a time to create awareness about breast cancer and women’s health.
It is a reminder that taking care of ourselves is not selfish but necessary. Many women are so busy caring for others especially their family which is expected tho, that they forget to check on their own health. This month encourages us to pause, breathe, and listen to our bodies. Regular self-examinations and medical checkups can save lives.
Menopause, too, is a natural phase that every woman will face, but to me it shouldn't be the end of beauty or strength. It is a period that calls for more self-love, good nutrition, and peaceful living. Pink Month is not just about wearing pink ribbons, it is about sharing knowledge, offering support, and inspiring one another to stay strong.
Every woman should know that early detection of breast cancer gives hope and confidence and possibility of cure if there's any.

2️⃣ Aging Is an Obligation, Maturing Is a Choice
When I hear the saying “Aging is an obligation, maturing is a choice,” I totally agree. Aging is something no one can escape because time moves whether we like it or not.Every birthday we celebrate is a quiet reminder that we are getting older.
But maturity is not about age; it is about how we think, act, and handle situations. I've seen people grow older but still behave like children, while others, even in their youth, display wisdom and calmness. Maturity comes from learning from life’s lessons, accepting responsibility, and knowing when to speak or stay silent. It is about treating others with respect, forgiving easily, and thinking before reacting.
Growing older is automatic and a sure thing every one will but growing wiser takes effort and self-awareness but I'd like to say that choosing maturity makes aging graceful and meaningful, because it's absurd to be an adult and not have sense 😏
Listening to our bodies, as you say, self-exams, and regular medical checkups can save lives, just as menopause, as a stage that demands more self-love, is very important.
And yes, choosing maturity makes aging elegant and gives life meaning. Thank you for sharing your experiences,

I love your responses to the questions.
Yes, our health is important and while we are taking care of others, let’s not forget to care for ourselves, too, most especially going for check ups to know the state of our bodies and take actions where needed.
