Improving myself day by day - LOH contest week #260 / Superándome día a día - concurso LOH semana #260 (eng-esp)

Hello, my friends.

Once again, I'm a finalist in our friend @merit.ahama's initiative, but I didn't want to miss out so I could once again honor my literary advisor and myself (why not?) in this 260th week.

My concept of self-improvement ceased to be an abstract idea the day I became a mother. Before that, self-doubt was a constant. I deeply doubted my ability to care for, educate, and guide another human being.
I believed I wouldn't be good enough. However, seeing my children today, healthy, loving, and full of life, I have concrete evidence that I've done well. That realization didn't erase my insecurities, but it took away their power to paralyze me.

My friends, overcoming them isn't about not having fears or doubts. I have them (I think we all do), and often. The difference is that I no longer let them control me. I've learned to recognize them, accept them, and then use them as tools.
Doubt forces me to be more careful, to better prepare myself. Fear reminds me of what's important to me and gives me the energy to protect it. Instead of being obstacles, they've become the fuel that drives me to improve every day.

That's why I always apply the same advice my literary advisor once gave me: "You have to believe in yourself." I take it as an instruction, a life tip. When uncertainty appears, I don't wait for confidence to magically arrive. I act as if I already believe in myself.
I begin to move forward, step by step, with faith that I'll find a way to move forward. And it works. Action is what generates certainty.
Self-improvement, for me, is just that: a daily decision to move forward despite everything, trusting that one's own ability will be sufficient for the journey.

He aprendido a reconocerlos, a aceptarlos y luego a usarlos como herramientas.

Sort:

Truly, when we look at how far we've come and what we've done, we realize we've been doing great and crushing doubts all along.
