My mum: My role model, my super woman /LOH Contest/ #222

in Ladies of Hive4 months ago

Greetings everyone.

My mum is my role model growing up. I choose her for so many reasons which I may not be able to enumerate here and am unapologetic about that, not for selfish reasons either.

My twin brother and I were four years plus when our Dad was involved in a ghastly auto crash (our mum narrated the incident to us when we were much older),which almost claimed his life then. He was hospitalized for more than a year due to the head injury he sustained which also affected his brain. This cost him his job when he was eventually discharged, his health was badly affected and couldn't continue. It also delayed our enrollment into primary school as our mum had no time for herself nor anyone else. Taking care of our Dad, nursing our baby sister who was seven months old then and providing for the family both financially, academically and in every aspect were solely bestowed on her unplanned.

This continued for eight years before he later passed on to eternity. In all these challenges my mum never complained, frowned nor got irritated. She discharges her duty with patience, love and total trust in God for strength, provision and guidance. What baffles me most is how she manages the situation. She sings and praises God all the time, infact singing is her hobby. I took that from her.

My mum is a cheerful giver, no matter how little it is she's always willing to share. Whoever that visits her never leaves the house without a gift. This is not to say she's without a fault as no one is perfect. She's a peacemaker, never holds grudges at all and hardly gets offended but if she does she airs her mind and it ends right there. Sometimes I ask myself what kind of person is she? She's just a special breed.

She is my super woman. She never thought of remarrying when our Dad died even though she was still young and beautiful all because of us. My mum single handedly paid my twin brother and I WAEC’s (West African Examination Council) fees earlier than I thought, I was even thinking we were going to pay late entry or for one of us but she surprised me. I was shocked to the marrow the day she called us and handed the money to me my eyes became teary that very moment. She's such a strong woman. she will always be my role model.

In conclusion, she taught me to always see the sunny side of life no matter what life throws at me. She taught me to be patient and always try to be at peace with people. I LOVE her so much.

As always, thanks for reading and engaging.

Your mother is a good role model to you, when growing up, every child living with his or her mother will surely be influenced by her mother because mothers spend more time with children than their father.

Your mom is indeed a strong woman. Taking care of you and your siblings even after the demise of your father is so amazing 👏 may your dad's soul continue to rest in the Lord and He will keep strengthening your mom as He has always done.

Amen! Thanks a bunch.
