The governments have shown utter contempt for the lives of private citizens, for the most part, there are still places in America that the water is totally unusable, yet one of the major bottled water corporations nearby reaps millions of gallons of water for next to nothing and then sells it back to the people.

There is really a lack of interest of the governments for the population, sometimes the one we think the least is taken care of as you express it. Let's hope that these situations change.
