Hello all ladies of Hive, I trust we are all doing good this morning. Meanwhile, how are you coping with the weather of the season?
In Nigeria, we are currently experiencing the harmattan season and I'm sure that outside Nigeria like in the US, it is winter that is being experienced currently, that's one of the packages that this season comes with and it's one of the things that makes this season unique and refreshing and just what it is.
For a long, while now I've always had this feeling in my mind, I don't know if I should call it fear or something else.
Maybe it's self-doubt I just don't know but this feeling has succeeded in the past years making me feel discouraged about doing something which I honestly should be doing and that's why for my new year resolution this is going to be the first one on my list because I know I have to overcome this not just in my mind alone, I need to overcome this in Action too, in reality.
So this is what I'm talking about, I've learned several skills and I've always dreamt of being established in my business. (I wanted to classify it as my business offline) but I wouldn't use the word offline because of the age we are in now, almost everything is done online getting customers, advertising goods and services, and doing a lot more things are all mostly achieved online.
For instance, as a hairstylist, a makeup artist, and someone who sells products, you get to advertise these things online.
For someone like me who hasn't gotten a place of my own yet (a shop), what helps me in making sales is my adverts online, on my social media platforms, so that is the reason why I won't say it's my offline business because it's not. (It's a bit, offline&online)
This feeling of fear or self-doubt come this way to my mind; when I get a shop of my own, I've gotten more product to sell, and I'm there waiting to be patronized, will I be able to manage it well, will I even have customers, will I succeed in it?
I don't know if it's normal but these are questions that just run through my mind and I wonder if it's normal, I wonder if I'm the only one who feels this way.
I'd like to know, when you're trying to start something new like this, (for me, this is something new) even though I've been advertising online and all that, getting a shop is something new because I've never owned one before. Come 2022 I plan to get a shop, stock it with products and make myself available for services that I will be offering. So is it normal for me to have this feeling, wondering if I will make sales if I'll be getting customers if I will succeed in it?
I'd like to know people's thoughts on it, have you ever been in a situation like this, how were you able to overcome it please do share our experiences with me.
Fear of acceptance happened to us when we wanted to start a family business. But our determination was stronger than our fear and we began.
@dreemport brought me here
Thanks dreemport, I wish you an amazing Christmas too.
My determination has to be stronger, thank you for the encouraging comment
The feeling is actually normal but the courage to fight it it's what you should get, just say yes I can do this I know there may be traffic on the way but I will definitely get there..
I'm happy for the first start the rest will fall in place for you!
I came across this article through @dreemport
Thank you Cesca.
Hey Sis, this feeling of self doubt is natural, I usually have that feeling too whenever I am about to start a new business.
Our ability to control it and focus on the bright side makes things extremely different. Just relax and be positive, everything will turn out well Darling.
Thank you so much for your kind words, they mean a lot 😊
My humble pleasure Sis.

Self-doubt is pretty normal, I remember quitting my job and doubting my decision for weeks, but after that I realized that it was best for me.
Start your business, and be hopeful that it will do great.
I feel relieved that its not uncommon.
Thank you
It isn't uncommon.
Also, you are welcome.
I have been there, started a a small grocery... just for reference.
things I could share is, reputation is first and foremost in business... seeing you already started even before having a shop already gives you a bit of edge. This will get you the costumers, knowing they are in good hands and they get what they paid for is enough to keep them... engagement is also key factor in business, as word of mouth on how good you are can start a wild fire.
Don't wait to get patronized, get out there tell people about your shop. (you also do online or offline promoting, or house to house, or whatever worth doing for success)
in managing, I would suggest a clear and easy to understand ledger... knowing what goes in and what goes out, expenses , profits etc... always keep a record for reference.
lastly, part of your profits should go into a well thought of improvement for your facility.
came here through @dreemport 🤣
It's natural to have such feelings... The fear of succeeding is always there when you are about to start something new. Most people tend to give up because of this fear. I want to tell you that you shouldn't be like this people. Life is all about risk, and without risk, there isn't a way you can make headway....
So, let go of the fear and do your thing. Just be optimistic and it will surely work out just fine.... I wish you all the best.

Thanks for sharing on #PYPT!
First, is it hair products you want to do?
Not just hair products, it's majorly, wig making, makeup and hairstyling and some products to sell by the side
Then, you have nothing to worry about. All you have to do is choose a shop in a good location especially where there are hair dressing salons, stock your shop with the products, the customers will come in large numbers when they know you will always have what they need.
You need consistency then because if one person is satisfied, she will tell her friend, who will tell the next person. And so on and so forth. Then, you supplement supplies and purchasing frequency with your online presence. It's just cool.
Stop doubting yourself, you can do this. I believe in you.
