Oh Elizabeth!!!
I am so happy that I am not alone! Yes, please lets try to help each other.
Regarding editing and cropping, our photography teacher told us that normally it is not allowed (for photographs that will be used i.e. in exhibitions or so) - but of course it could work and I have done it.
Have you noticed that when you take a video, you have a greater zoom (up to 15x) and you can take photos during it? The quality is not the best, but you can zoom in objects that are far away using the video)
About macro, there is a setting where you allow it to be enabled automatically. If you de-select it, then you can use it when you want I think.
Do you use portrait or photo mode for your images?
I was aware of the zoom on the video, but unaware of the photo capability while videoing. On another note, you can always screenshot a pic while you replay the video which does give better resolution.
I generally use photo. Have you taken a picture of say like a tall stand of trees using the pano but from forest floor to top of trees? It makes everything look like it's bending together. It's seriously interesting!
I haven't ever taken a photography class, so all of my photos can be a bit of trial and error, but the phone and the three cameras make it interesting. I do enjoy photography!
I just checked and my macro setting and it is indeed on.
Take care and enjoy your day!
