RE: Ladies of Hive Community Contest #85 - Handling Criticism

in Ladies of Hive3 years ago

I share your opinion @nainaztengra . There are people that even if you were perfect, they always make corrections. I had a colleague like that. I started working and I had different ideas that I put into my work. She didn't like them. That's what she said. It was hard for me to accept that this person had problems in the whole department. I noticed that the other colleagues were afraid of her and treated her up front, but then, when she left, they criticized her. Oh, surprise! Although she always criticized me, I never listened to her or responded to her criticism. Eventually we had to travel together for work and guess what? I got to share a room with her. From that moment on everything changed. Of course not as I wanted, but the most important thing is that she managed to value and respect me. Shortly before retiring she said to me:
-You were very bold, I recognize that. You were the only person who treated me with sincerity.

Well, that made my heart happy.....

Wow, that's what our own self-esteem also brings us. When we know that we are doing right things then we need to take the stand because no matter someone or the other will always find a problem with us. Good that you took your stands. It is not easy to go against the flow in corporate environments. Thank you for sharing your story @katleya
