In my circumstances my mother was the main bread winner while my Father contributed the lesser finances but spend the majority of his free time with me. He was a chef and he naturally taught me cooking. Sewing? not as good. He'd darn a sock to get more use out of an almost over worn pair, he shows me his attempt, "Don't do what I did here." And we'd laugh it up since he couldn't sew if his life depended on it. I lost my father in a freak accident over twenty five years ago.
I still deeply miss him.
