From the ideal that a 'partnership is greater than the sum of it's parts' it would be best to get a big a picture of the finances as possible when we want to make the best decisions for the benefit of the household. A good part of a financial plan is budget aside a sum for personal enjoyment as well as a sum for unexpected emergency expenses. Especially for Emergencies.
