I can say without fear of being wrong that many people consider services essential that really are not, and that could well be coordinated so as not to be used during significantly important dates.
I had my time working in the food service industry, and evidently I've had to work either on Christmas, New Year's, Easter, or any other day that for the rest of the population was a day of rest.
I know I sound a bit bitter, but that's really my natural tone, though I'm sure many have already noticed.
I remember my first formal job was at 17 years old, working the day shift at a very famous and traditional ice cream parlor. And yes, people like to go get ice cream on December 24th and 25th, and also on January 1st, or any other holiday.
Work is work, I'm not complaining about that, but I am surprised by how insensitive people are and the little empathy they have for workers.
Come on, in Paraguay there has been electricity since 1913, at least in Asunción, and we're fortunate not to suffer very long power outages, which makes it perfectly possible to keep ice cream in perfect condition in a common refrigerator freezer.
But since human beings love to demonstrate they're one rung higher than their peers, well, they go to be served, preferably on a special date when most people would want to be with their loved ones.
Perhaps that's why I have a policy of never going to a food service establishment on special dates, holidays, and also not close to closing time.
Because there are also those who arrive 1 minute before closing time.
It would be fabulous if people understood what essential services are, and respected a bit more the people who provide those services and also those who provide non-essential services, which are simple whims or luxuries.
My suggestion: plan ahead, shop in the days before, and remember that others also have families.
Having said this, I take the opportunity to extend my sincere wishes of peace, happiness and prosperity for the #ladiesofhive community in particular and the #Hive community in general.

Saludos!

I agree with you about respecting the people who work with those services, as you say, especially during that time when they want to be with their loved ones. Have a nice night,
