Three months, but supposed my Baby should start receiving his vaccine at two. The funny thing was that I thought this wouldn't be an issue financially. Why? All of us, including all my nieces, were vaccinated at our local health center (supported by the government.) Yet, when I inquired here in our local unit, I was surprised to learn that some vaccines were unavailable.
What are the vaccines my Baby should receive?
- Penta or what they called 5-in-1
- Rotavirus
- PVC
As I talked with the local BHW before my sons turn two, there is no available vaccine yet. His Pedia says it's okay if the immunization is delayed, though the ideal should be two months. I waited a month, but the health center didn't call me, still no schedule.
At first, I thought it was only in our barangay, but I was surprised that it was Nationwide. I watched some videos and comments stating that some of their babies were already three months old, and others were six but hadn't received any vaccines. BUT it was available in private hospitals. So, our government didn't purchase? WHY? Leaving with no choice as I don't want to compromise the health of my little one, I contacted his pedia.
- Rotavirus - $62.30
- 5-in-1 - $71.20
Oh, I never had an idea it was this expensive. The doctor's professional fee is not yet included! This made me think, what about those babies whose parents couldn't afford to go to private Doctors? I felt sorry for them 😥. I am not updated on what is happening here in my country. Simply as I don't want to stress myself, but I am hoping vaccines will be available soon!
The Vaccination Day
As I posted on my Twitter for the past three months, this was the first time my Baby and I would go out in peace. My heart was calm, and even though I knew he would be pricked again by a needle, I didn't panic.
We left home past nine in the morning, and usually his nap time, which, is why he was asleep. My sister-in-law was not available to drive us to the hospital, so we commuted.
It is good that small buses are now available as public transportation. It was more convenient as it was closed-door and air-conditioned.
While sitting, a pretty lady was across, and I found my son staring at her 😆.
At his age, he already knows how to appreciate beauty! LOL
The lady was lovely, smiling and waving at him, yet he was still thoughtfully staring at her.
And me, who was still sleepy, lol. I was never been in a deep sleep since I gave birth. It was like, yeah, my eyes are closed, yet my mind was active, just waiting for my son to wake up,😆.
Congratulations, Mommy, you did a great job! His Pedia says after checking on my son.
He was surprised to see him as he had grown much; He didn't look like three months but seven! A big little boy!
Yeah, no wonder my back aches already, and my arms numb after minutes of holding him 😆.
After a short discussion and explanation of how vital vaccination records are, here comes the crying moment for my little one!
His reaction after tasting the Rota vaccine: Yes, it's an oral drop. The Pedia was complimenting him for not crying and not spitting. Maybe it helps that he hasn't latched for hours. I intended it that way, as that's the tip I got from other Mommies. Imagine if your Baby will spit or puke all the drops? It was like wasting your money 😆.
Yet he cried after the injection; who wouldn't?
I was anticipating he might have had a fever or other side effects, but I am thankful he didn't. He just got extra clingy and lost his appetite. Other than that, he was good and bubbly.
It had been days since his first immunization, and he was fine!
Now, I am waiting for his schedule at the local health center for the PCV and hoping a second dose of Penta will be available, too! 😆
And Hey Ladies', today is power-up day! Did you staked at the most minuscule 10 Hive?

Wahhh cutie baby finally got his vaccine and was able to go on a little journey outside. Sad some vaccine's not available in the center. And the price of each is hindi pala biro. Still, better spend that much nalang for the baby na rin. Kisses for that adorable baby 😘😘😘
Nakakahagas kasi kapag wala vaccine, Hindi ko Naman pwede itago si baby sa bahay Lagi 😆.

Healthcare isn't cheap anywhere, I've got a reasonable Health care insurance in Canada.
$133.60 USD or PHP for the vaccines?
That's the estimated Use value, spent a total of P7,500 in peso for the two vaccines.
It was expensive, but as a first time mom, I don't want to compromise my baby's health. Or I would be more confident even if he is not vaccinated if he is full breastfeed, but not.
What a cutie! Only the best for our little ones sis even if we need to pay more.
Bakit BA Kasi Ng short Ng supply Ng vaccine. Dati madami nman.kamahal pa😐
