Study of the Portrait of Megan Fox ~ Airbrush ArtWork and the Steps how I created it 😊 🎨

Hi all 👋🏻

I wanted to show you today another one of my earlier #airbrush works I created in 2011. Yep it’s been awhile… 🤓😉 over 10 years now.
This work is made for learning purposes only…

Photographs are taken by my old Samsung phone at that time… so the quality isn’t great, but enough to see the steps arise. 😇 I started this airbrush work 11-11-2011 😎 funny date… hehehe 🤭

Equipment I used:
Airbrush gun: IWATA CUSTOM MICRON
Paint: professional Airbrush colors
Underground is an #illustration board 38 x 27 cm - 15 x 10.6 inch.
Erasers and some soft #coloured #pencils.

During a course with Marissa Oosterlee before her “new technique”. Let me guide you through some of the steps now of creating this portrait.
Photos are taken inside under fluctuating light sources/ different colours over several days.

Step 1

As you can see I work here in full steps on individual areas, so I started the eyes… and won’t move on until they are finished.

Step 1 close up…

The eye lashes are not completed yet, as that is another step later on after the skin tones are added.

Step 2

The mouth is next. With the eraser I create the highlights. And build the lips further up again with more layers, until the desired result.

Step 3

The first layers of the skin colour is added… more layers are added later. And the highlights and shadow parts are looked at closely. Texture is also added with every layer so it will look like skin in the end.

Step 4

A rare photo of me airbrushing… 😉 hahaha
I’m adding the shade on the right and what will be later also the start of the hairs.

Step 5

Progress so far. Here details are added by erasing highlights and airbrushing more layers over it to create depth.

Step 6

Me adding hair on the left with the help of a shield… I’m holding it off of the work, to protect the face from overspray. And adding hairs that are not sharp. Sometimes I even use fingers to assist. Spraying paint.

Step 7

Adding details with coloured pencils, but not much otherwise the effect of the airbrush can be lost. Just in a few areas… some details is enough.

Step 8 close ups:

Details… eyes.

Lips and cheek.

Forehead.

Lips and nose.

It’s a shame you can’t see all details and layers in these photos. But I hope you get an idea… of this study of Megan fox.
