I get carried away by the questions and the doubt in the face of doubt catches me. I have been, since I was little, very indecisive. I think, think and think before finally taking a path, but when I take it I don't turn back.
It may not always be good or for the better. It has been difficult for me to trust myself, my self-esteem is something that I have been building step by step in life, I still have a lot to grow, to learn.
Life, God or the universe has imposed challenges on me, some have hurt, others have left scars.
I am going to share with you one of my first steps towards myself, towards overcoming doubt about my own value.
I always really enjoyed reading and that somehow led me to create my own pages, but it wasn't until I was a little over twenty years old that I decided to show my letters to someone. The person who received me discovered in that pile of papers the talent that until that moment I did not recognize in myself.
Thanks to him, today I have several books published and at times, I can call myself a poet. I say at times because I am also a mother.
But that moment was the first step to begin to believe in my value and not let myself be defeated so easily by doubts.
As I told you, my great passion is books, especially poetry. Throughout history, it has not been easy for women to be recognized, but strong women have always been born.
When looking for a female figure that inspires me, names of the many poets that I admire immediately come to mind, from Anna Akhmatova to this one, on whom I stop, not only because she was born Cuban, but because despite all the blows that life dealt her, she knew how to rise from her woman's voice tosow a footprint.
Carilda Oliver Labra, was born in 1922 and died in 2018. Her work is a symbol of female resistance and creativity. Among her verses she addresses not only sensuality, love, in her verses there is identity, social reality and that breath of a confident woman, a woman who is not afraid of defeats because her greatness rises above them.
Therefore, I am going to say goodbye with these verses that so many times save me and help me continue, because being a woman is not being fragile, being a woman is being unique, special, it is carrying the kindness of the dove and the will of the waves of the sea.

Me dejo llevar por las interrogantes y me atrapa la duda ante la duda. Soy, desde pequeña, muy indecisa. Pienso, pienso y pienso antes de tomar finalmente un camino, pero cuando lo tomo no doy vuelta atrás.
Quizás no siempre sea bueno o para bien. Me ha costado mucho confiar en mi misma, mi autoestima es algo que he ido forjando en el paso a paso de la vida, aún me queda mucho por crecer, por aprender.
La vida, Dios o el universo me ha impuesto retos, algunos han dolido, otros han dejado cicatrices.
Les voy a compartir uno de mis primeros pasos hacia mi misma, hacia esa superación de la duda sobre mi propio valor.
Siempre disfruté mucho la lectura y eso me llevó, de algún modo, a crear mis propias páginas pero no fue hasta que cumplí algo más de veinte años que me decidí a mostrarle mis letras a alguien. La persona que me recibió descubrió en ese montón de papeles el talento que hasta ese momento yo no reconocía en mí.
Gracias a él, hoy tengo varios libros publicados y a ratos, puedo llamarme poeta. Digo a ratos porque también soy mamá.
Pero ese instante, fue el primer paso para comenzar a creer en mi valor y a no dejarme vencer tan facilmente por las dudas.
Como les decía mi gran pasión son los libros, sobre todo la poesía, a lo largo de la historia para la mujer no ha sido fácil lograr que se le reconozca pero siempre han nacido mujeres fuertes.
Al buscar una figura femenina que me inspire, enseguida me surgen nombres de las muchas poetas que admiro, desde una Anna Akhmatova hasta ésta, sobre la que me detengo, no solo por haber nacido cubana, si no porque a pesar de todos los golpes que le dio la vida supo alzarse desde su voz de mujer para sembrar una huella.
Carilda Oliver Labra, nació en 1922 y fallece en 2018. Su obra es un símbolo de resistencia y creatividad femenina. Entre sus versos acude no solo a la sensualidad y el amor, en ellos hay identidad, realidad social y ese aliento de mujer segura, una mujer que no teme a las derrotas porque sobre ellas ese alza su grandeza.
Por eso, me voy a despedir con estos versos que tantas veces me salvan y ayudan a seguir, porque ser mujer no es ser frágil, ser mujer es ser única, especial, es llevar la bondad de la paloma y la voluntad de las olas del mar.
