A new weekly contest with interesting topics that make us reflect and deepen our opinions, I confess that it took me longer than I thought to write my post because the topic of Euthanasia has delicate extremes And I didn't want to go too far, because these types of decisions are usually questioned but when you're from the outside, when you have to live it, the story is different. I hope you like it.
The subject of Euthanasia is quite controversial, many jokingly think that they prefer it before having to live suffering from a terrible disease, or worse still, being a burden to your family already that you can't fend for yourself. But of course, the will of every human being must be respected, and with no question before had I felt so indecisive and divided. It makes me imagine several scenarios, would I be able to end my life in this way? Would I be able to accept that another person dear to me make that decision? They have to do with many factors. I immediately remember a movie where a boxer asks her trainer to take her life to end her pain and suffering since she had already achieved her dream of being a boxer, the pain that must be felt to request such a thing is unimaginable.
Ending your life is a very difficult decision, I believe that each individual has the right to decide about himself, about the way he lives and dies. There are those who decide before reaching that point, people who know what their destiny or future is and, above all, they prefer to leave and get rid of meaningless agony or unnecessary struggle. That is admirable, not wanting to suffer and not wanting to be seen to suffer is an act of love. More complex is the case when the person cannot decide for himself, does not have the ability to move or even feed himself and it is up to his family to make such a decision. At this point I am overwhelmed by doubt, because my religious side tells me that only God has that power, only he decides how we leave this world and that form of assisted death makes me doubt my position.
There are many famous medical cases and although it is not a current topic, it was only in 2002 that this practice was legalized in the Netherlands, being the first country to do so. Each case is particular and this decision should not be taken lightly, I can only end by saying that what really matters is the will and desire of the person who suffers and suffers, that voice, sometimes mute, is the only one with worth.

Un nuevo concurso semanal con temas interesantes que nos hacen reflexionar y profundizar sobre nuestras opiniones, les confieso que me tardé más de lo que pensé en escribir mi post pues el tema de la Eutanasia tiene extremos delicados y no quise sobrepasarme, pues este tipo de decisiones se acostumbran a cuestionar pero cuando estás desde afuera, cuando te toca vivirlo, la historia es otra. Espero sea de su agrado.
El tema de la Eutanasia es bastante controversial, muchos opinan entre bromas que la prefieren antes de tener que vivir sufriendo a causa de una terrible enfermedad, o peor aún, siendo una carga para tu familia ya que no puedes valerte por ti mismo. Pero claro, la voluntad de cada ser humano debe ser respetada, y con ninguna pregunta antes me había sentido tan indecisa y dividida. Me hace imaginar varios escenarios, sería capaz yo de acabar con mi vida de esta forma? Sería capaz de aceptar que otra persona querida para mí tome esa decisión? Tienen que ver muchos factores. Inmediatamente recuerdo una película donde una boxeadora le pide a su entrenador que le quite la vida para acabar con su dolor y sufrimiento ya que ella ya había logrado su sueño de ser boxeadora, es inimaginable el dolor que se debe sentir para solicitar tal cosa.
Poner fin a tu vida es una decisión muy difícil, creo que cada individuo tiene el derecho de decidir sobre sí mismo, sobre la forma en como vive y muere. Hay quienes lo deciden antes de llegar a ese punto, personas que saben cuál es su destino o futuro y ante todo, prefieren irse y librarse de una agonía sin sentido o de una lucha innecesaria. Eso es admirable, no querer sufrir y no querer que te vean sufrir es un acto de amor. Más complejo es el caso cuando la persona no puede decidir por sí mismo, no tiene la capacidad de moverse o incluso alimentarse y es a su familia a quien le corresponde tomar tal decisión. En este punto me embarga la duda, porque mi lado religioso me dice que solo Dios tiene ese poder, sólo él decide de qué forma dejamos este mundo y esa forma de muerte asistida me hace dudar sobre mi posición.
Hay muchos casos médicos famosos y a pesar de que no es un tema actual, apenas en 2002 esta práctica se legalizó en los Países Bajos, siendo el primer país en hacerlo. Cada caso es particular y no se debe tomar a la ligera ésta decisión, solo puedo terminar diciendo que lo que de verdad importa es la voluntad y el deseo de la persona que padece y sufre, esa voz, a veces muda, es la única con valor.

La posición de ser el familiar que tome la decisión es la más controversial debido al tema religioso, sin embargo, yo creo que es tener piedad por el enfermo. Saludos 😊

A person's life and death is God's will, however, God also gives us choices for our own reasons. Some people resist such an act, for several reasons, but for sufferers of untreatable diseases, it can only be a choice between living with suffering or dying relieving pain. it's a difficult choice.

Choice by the patient is paramount as I can understand it. It's not an easy choice should the patient is not lucid or cognizant such that the burden falling upon the next of kin. It is why we should plan for that contingency should it arise.

There must be family agreements prior to the situation, many cases are from birth, others unexpectedly, the situation can be very strong but I would not want to go through that.
Indeed, this controversial topic has a lot to do with religion. My religion wouldn't agree to it as it means taking one's life before their time.
But I guess it's a little different when the patient is the one pressing for it.
