Greetings, dear hive. The first Christmas celebrations are upon us, and with them come the contests and initiatives related to this time of year.
Personally, I consider myself a true lover of celebrating the last month of the year. It's a time that fosters bonds between family, friends, and couples, where gatherings, joy, dancing, dinners, and Christmas decorations abound.
If I had the opportunity to give a very special gift that would make this time of year even more enjoyable and cherished, it would undoubtedly be for my best friend, Milestis, who is also the godmother of my little boy.
Right now, we are miles apart and therefore cannot celebrate the end of the year together, so I would give her a mistletoe decoration to hang on her door. We always protected each other, and this would be my way of protecting her from afar. According to mythology, mistletoe is a symbol of reconciliation and love, associated with the goddess Freya. Hanging it in the home was believed to bring good luck and protect the family, as well as purify the home and ward off illness and negative energy. In this way, I would wish her good health, prosperity, love, and that our friendship lasts forever for the new year.
What I enjoy most about the holiday season are the family dinners. More than the food itself, I enjoy having most of my family together, laughing, telling stories, dancing, sharing a toast or two, and saying "cheers" in unison. That is undoubtedly the best part.
There is another moment that I recently discovered after becoming a mother and it has me delighted, and that is precisely teaching my son about Christmas, passing on the customs and the Christmas spirit. Now it is my turn to play the role of Santa Claus and I do it with great pride and passion because I still keep all the memories of my childhood, when I received the gifts under my little tree with euphoria.

Saludos querida colmena. Llegan los primeros festejos de la navidad y con ellos los concursos e iniciativas relacionados con esta fecha.
En lo particular me considero una fiel amante de la celebración del último mes del año, es una espacio que fomenta los lazos familiares, de amigos y parejas, donde reinan los encuentros, la alegría, los bailes, las cenas, y los adornos navideños.
Si tuviera la oportunidad de hacer un regalo muy especial que hiciera más amena y querida esta fecha, sin duda alguna sería para mi mejor amiga Milestis y también madrina de mi pequeño hijo.
En estos momentos nos encontramos a millas de distancia y por ende no podemos festejar juntas el fin de año, así que le regalaría un adorno de muérdago para que lo colgase en la puerta. Siempre nos protegimos la una a la otra, y esta sería mi forma de protegerla en la distancia. Según la mitología, el muérdago es un símbolo de reconciliación y amor, asociado con la diosa Freya. Colgarlo en casa se creía que traía buena suerte y protegía a la familia además de purificar el hogar, alejar enfermedades y malas energías. De esta forma le desearía para nuevo año, mucha salud, prosperidad, amor y que nuestra amistad perdure para siempre.
De la temporada navideña lo que más disfruto son las cenas familiares, más que la comida como tal, disfruto de tener a la mayor parte de mi familia reunida, riendo, haciendo cuentos, bailando y compartiendo uno que otro brindis , y diciendo a coro”salud”, esa es sin duda la mejor parte.
Hay oto momento que descubrí hace poquito luego de ser mamá y me tiene encantada, y es precisamente enseñarle la navidad a mi hijo, transmitirle las costumbres y el espíritu navideño, ahora me corresponde hacer el papel de Papá Noel y lo hago con mucho orgullo y pasión debido a que aún conservo todos los recuerdos de mi niñez, cuando recibía toda eufórica los regalos debajo de mi pequeño arbolito.
