Ladies of Hive Community Contest #262//For equality of roles[ENG-ESP]

in Ladies of Hive2 days ago

Greetings to the entire community! I really enjoyed one of today's suggestions.

Historically, the difference between men and women in the home was based on the sexual division of labor, a model that assigned very rigid roles and responsibilities to each gender, considered "natural" or immutable. Women were confined simply to performing household chores, while men were responsible for working outside the home to support the family.

The current struggle for equality of roles in the home focuses on dismantling this historical division and achieving full co-responsibility.

The equitable distribution of domestic tasks is based on communication, the responsibility of all members, and the recognition that all the tasks necessary to maintain a functional home are shared responsibilities, not a "favor" from one member to another.

All members of my family have jobs, both men and women, and we are all responsible for the household's financial support, as I believe it should be. We also all help with household chores. For example, while I'm picking out the rice, my husband cleans the house and my mother takes care of the child, and we rotate tasks according to the needs of the household.

You know, these differences aren't only seen between men and women; sometimes, elderly people are undervalued and even excluded from household chores and decision-making.

It's very sad that nowadays there are women subjugated to a husband, father, or some other family member, who are only valued, and sometimes not even that, for domestic work. There are even still men who don't allow women to study or work, so they don't become involved with the outside world, depriving them of their full potential as individuals.

I take this opportunity to tell you, woman, that you are not alone. There are many of us at home, and everyone must do their part to achieve equitable well-being. Don't let them impose rules, restrictions, or tasks on you that you simply don't want to do right now. Your voice matters too.
