En Venezuela no tenemos una celebración como el Día de los Caídos para honrar a miembros caídos del servicio del país, pero si tenemos fechas importantes que celebrar y rememorar .

In Venezuela we do not have a celebration like Memorial Day to honor fallen members of the country's service, but we do have important dates to celebrate and remember.
Una de las fechas más importantes de nuestro país es sin duda el 19 de abril de 1810, que marco el inicio de la lucha por nuestra independencia del dominio español, en Venezuela seis provincias desconocieron el mandato del general Vicente Emparan, maximo representante de la corona Española, ya hace 214 años de aquel día en el que nuestro pueblo rompió las cadenas que los oprimía para ser libres, obteniendo como resultado la proclamación de la independencia de nuestra patria que culminaría en 1821 con la independencia ya declarada.
Éste día nos permite celebrar, recordar a nuestros héroes independentistas y reflexionar sobre su valentía, coraje y determinación de luchar, muchos dieron su vida por la libertad de la nación.
Ésta fecha es considerada una de las más importantes en la historia venezolana, cuyo significado recae en los sucesos que originaron ése cambio hacia nuestra condición de ser un país libre, independiente y soberano, siendo nuestros próceres Simón bolivar, Francisco de Miranda y Andrés Bello los que proclamaron la independencia de Venezuela a través del acta de independencia.
Éste año más que nunca estamos llamados y comprometidos a defender ésa libertad que nos dejaron nuestros antepasados, éste año Dios mediante tenemos elecciones, esperanzas y un gran compromiso de recuperar nuestro país, de de volver a ser ése país bonito que nos contenga a todos, con las mismas oportunidades de progresar, de tener atención médica de calidad, sueldos dignos que cubran nuestras necesidades básicas, dónde nuestros jóvenes tengan futuro y la oportunidad de conseguir un trabajo de acuerdo a su preparación académica.
Tenemos que reafirmar con nuestro voto por que en ésta fecha cada año se conmemora de la independencia ¡ Viva Venezuela ¡
